We really enjoyed this restaurant. We all had fried gulf shrimp. The service was great. The prices are extremely reasonable. Will definitely return.
What a terrible was to end a vacation!!!!!$22 shrimp(4) oyster(3) poyboy… for that price I expected something at least descent but it was the worst poyboy I have ever eaten. The bisc was descent but you won’t remember it. Bloody Marry was basic, nothing fancy. Menu claimed it came dressed up with a shrimp coctail… nope. My sister got the grouper… it was snapper and they thought I wouldn’t know the difference… WAY over seasoned! My cousin got crab claws and popcorn shrimp… over cooked and over battered. The service was good but I’m a little offended they didn’t warn us about how bad it was… the food was horrible to the point that nobody finished their meal. It cost me $100 after tip to feed 3.
Went because it had good reviews, but had bad service and food is way overpriced for the mediocre quality. Took forever to get our meal and broiled scallops were barely warm. Not a repeat place for us.
Menu change since we werd here last year.. We have always had to eat a couple of times at least every time we come on vacation at King Neptunes but never again after yesterday.We got there around 3:15 and we always got the shrimp basket and it was wonderful at 9.99 but now they didn’t even have that on the menu, the cheapest plate was shrimp.plate 22 dollars and the shrimp was chewy fries dry and hushpupies was hard , so not our favorite anymore!!
This is the second time here on this trip. It’s been good both times. Good service and good food, except for the BBQ shrimp.
Reds ruined!. Disappointing. From the website: King Neptunes has become known as the place to go in Gulf Shores when you want royal reds. Umm, not this time. Our $32.99 pound of reds were overcooked. Spongy and stringy and not well seasoned. I should have complained but the place was packed, we waited 30 minutes for a table, 30 more for our food and we were starving and did not want to wait anymore. So we just ate it. I can make them better myself. I like seafood shacks. But this one aint it!
We LOVE this place. We always eat here at least twice every trip to the gulf. We’ve also stopped by on our way out of town and picked up a couple quarts of the bisque to take home. Everything we’ve eaten here has been delicious and freshly prepared. The seafood prices have gotten a little high in the past couple years but it’s still a great spot. I recommend getting here before 6 for dinner unless you want to wait a while–even in the off season. It’s kind of an old school hole in the wall type place, but we LOVE it.
