We are locals in Gulf Shores, and have not gone here in past 5 years because of the long lines waiting to be seated. But yesterday we went for a late lunch. I had seen their ads for chargrilled oysters, so we built our order around that. I asked the waitress how much the were and she replied $20 a dozen. We ordered that as an appetizer, and a seafood platter with turnip greens and Cole slaw to share for the entree as well.A few minutes later she came back to advise they were $21.99. We said OK. A few minutes later she came back to advise that they only have BAKED, and did we want them or not. By then we were 30 minutes into sitting there, so we said a frustrated OK.All the food was eventually brought it all out at once. Not as an appetizer and entree as ordered. It looked better than it was. The spinach on the oysters was too much, and lacked flavor. We ate six between us and gave up.The turnip greens were canned and my wife took one bite and left the rest. There were only 2 fried oysters on the platter along with average portions of crawfish tails, shrimp, and flounder. The oysters were really $23.99, bringing the tab with tip and tax to almost $60.A manager came by and advised us that they have a small grill, and ONLY do chargrilled oyster in the slow season, like November to spring break. This is not in our top 10 list, and I doubt we will be back in the next 5 year’s.
