Best meal on entire vacation! The fresh catch was mahi mahi with a creamy crab sauce with shrimp, served with veggies, rice and a delightful plantain. Everyone at our table was happy!!!! Service was excellent and everyone was so nice. Great gift shop too. Bought super cute ball caps for souvenirs and ukuleles too 🙂
We have ordered pizza from Old World for years when vacationing here. We were surprised when we called and were told it was now Sassy Bass. We decided to give it a try and were glad we did. The pizza was wonderful.
The Sassy Bass Grille opened several months ago. It is in the former Old Market Bakery and Pizza one block north of the beach off Highway 59, next door to De Soto’s. A server said it had been substantially renovated, but other than painting the exterior a mix of white and orange (Old Market was bright red) and bringing in the trademark Amazin’ Sassy Bass brightly painted wood tables and chairs, it looked the same to me. Service was good.There are salads, sandwiches, and burgers, plus fish and sea food items. Large pizzas are available for $20, which is high for this area. Had a Bacon Cheeseburger with fries. Would rate it B+ and the fries were very close to properly crisp, but would have been better with maybe another minute in the hot oil. This is a common problem in this area. Give it a try in you are close by. Might not be worth a really long drive unless the pizza is exceptionally good.
