The atmosphere is intimate and somewhat romantic, without being stuffy or pretentious. There was live music that was acoustic, not too loud, and pleasant. It added to the dining experience rather than detracting from it. The service was friendly, fast, and efficient. The food was very good. We ate at about 8-9 area establishments during our vacation week, and the food here was our favorite. My grouper over parmigiana risotto was incredible. It’s one of the best dishes I’ve had this year. The restaurant would be fine for kids too, but it is an excellent escape for adults wanting to enjoy a great meal. I will definitely visit here again when I return to the area.
We visited Sunset Cork Room on a recent trip to Gulf Shores while attending the Hangout Music Festival. After driving all day, it was difficult finding a restaurant that suited our appetites that was still serving at our late arrival of 9:30 p.m. Most restaurants in the area were closed by 9:00. Liz was a great server, and she took care of our every need. Not a single person in our party of 5 had a complaint. The braised short ribs and crispy shrimp were fabulous! Thank you, Sunset Cork Room for great food and great hospitality! We’ll be back.
My wife , a close friend, and I dined here last night to celebrate our anniversary. It was our first visit since they reopened a few weeks ago after a terrible fire closed them down last summer. This restaurant is the best kept secret in Gulf Shores. It is like your own small private club, and they take reservations. Of course almost everything inside is bright and shiny new now, but the charm , personal attention, food, and service remain the same. The new menu features both small plate options, and a dozen full plate entrees including side and salad. I had the filet mignon for $25 , and Abby had the chicken breast over mashed potatoes for $18. Pictures attached. Both were perfect. The fresh hot bread was endless, the drink glasses never got half empty. The wine and top shelf margaritas were reasonably priced and generously served. For dessert we had the lemon blueberry bread pudding, which was not only delicious, but large enough for all three of us.DO NOT MISS GOING TO THIS PLACE.
