Primarily a dive bar that serves good food. There’s only a few tables inside. Wait staff is super friendly, like you’d expect at your local dive. Would love to come hang out at the bar, but this visit was for lunch and only for food. That said, we started with the homemade chips, which were great. For main foods, the crab & crawfish cakes and the conecuh sausage poboy were both good along with some great french fries.
We enjoyed our meal at the Flying Harpoon. The staff was very friendly and helpful with their recommendations. We visited on a Saturday evening around 7:30 so they were not terribly busy. We were greeted when we walked in the door.. Our order was promptly taken, the drinks were delivered right away and the food followed quickly. The roast beef Po’ boy was very tasty as it was well seasoned and the bread was crisp. The shrimp appetizer was nicely favored, but the shrimp itself was a tad fishy. The server checked on us several times, dirty dishes were promptly removed. Enjoyed the ‘Poon and will be back
