Crepe Myrtle’s Cafe is charming and not overly crowded. I would definitely consider having a business lunch here. Came here with the whole family on a Saturday. Prices are very reasonable. I had the veggie sandwich and a cup of tomato bisque. They were both very creamy, but enjoyable. The veggie sandwich had tomato, lettuce, white cheese, herbed mayo, and asparagus. My picky eater child loved her cheese burger.

My boyfriend and I walked in and looked at the menu on the wall, and ordered two lattes. The woman taking our order didn’t even look up at us, simply handed us two cups and said they didn’t serve coffee, and walked away. We had some of the coffee that was in a pot by the fountain drinks. We couldn’t believe she refused to serve us like that when coffee was so clearly on the menu. So rude, if you don’t like serving customers then don’t work in a restaurant. We will not return.

Quaint Cafe. Accidentally happening onto this restaurant while shopping in the Little Professor, I have now frequented this quaint cafe several times. In the past, I have ordered the veggie sandwich which contains several standard veggies but also contains fresh asparagus which is a nice surprise. Today, however, I ordered the tomato bisque, and although it was a tad creamier than I would personally prefer, it was still very flavorful and I am quite sure was made from scratch. The cafe atmosphere is relaxing and welcoming and the food is full of flavor, both of which are a nice reprieve from the ordinary.

Best brunch and nicest staff in Birmingham. Dog friendly on the patio.

Buttermilk Pie. My review is short. I always get the buttermilk pie. It’s good. You should get it too.

Sunday Brunch and Lunch. This restaurant is perhaps my favorite place to have Sunday Brunch. It is usually not too packed, but on certain Sunday’s that can change. It has some of the best food in Birmingham. I cannot count the number of times I have dined at this establishment, and never had a dissapointing meal. I recommend the Tomato Bisque for lunch. As for Sunday brunch, the Grilled Cheese and the Traditional Breakfast are the way to go.Try the Sweet Potato au Gratin, I order it every time. Great biscuts.A must-visit well kept secret in the heart of Homewood in Little Professor’s Bookstore.

Nice little place in a bookstore.. Tucked inside a bookstore, it’s a nice change from some of the more bustling Homewood eateries. The owner is far too stiff for my tastes. It’s a neighborhood lunch place, not the Ritz Carlton. Loosen up, chat with the customers and enjoy life!
