A hidden jewel in Homewood. My boyfriend and I stumbled upon this hole in the wall a few months ago…it is now a once a week place we visit. You will crave their food…so beware! The food is amazing! I ordered the manicotti and my boyfriend ordered rondelle. By far the best manicotti I’ve ever tasted..my boyfriend would agree. We have tried numerous dishes there and I never leave dissapointed. Also if you are a fan of pizza…you must try it! The service is always great, good home-like feeling there. It is an older place but don’t let it’s appearance fool you. I urge you to give this place a chance. You won’t be dissapointed!

Ate there last week. I ordered the Baked Ziti and it was all I could do to finish it the portion was so large. They believe greatly that your can never have enough cheese. Will be back

Vegetarian Pizza rocked but Service Slow. We went this past Saturday night, arrived around 7 p.m. They will allow you to bring your own wine for a corkage fee, which is very cool. Service was slow at the beginning, but I didn’t see very many servers and the one we had seemed to have too many tables to handle. We had to wait about 10 minutes to get water and then another 10 to get our wine opened. We enjoyed the vegetarian pizza, which has lots of veggies and double cheese, and the crust was good. More of a Chicago-style pizza. The decor is old inside and it is nothing fancy, very casual. Everything they brought to other tables looked quite yummy and there was a waiting line at 7 p.m. for tables over 2 people. One caveat: We had a very noisy table next to us of 10 with 5 children who were not well-behaved. More of the parents’ fault, why people cannot teach their children how to behave in public and that the whole world is not their playground is beyond me. Be prepared on weekends to have that kind of problem.

Great Food. I took my daughter there about two weeks ago. She loved it. And that is coming from a very picky 11 year old. We are always comparing every pizza to Davenports. According to my daughter, it was equal to that. I had the Lasagna and it was excellent. We got a to-go salad for my wife and she loved it. As for the ambiance, the appearance didn’t bother me as bad as it did one reviewer. Every restaurant doesn’t have to look like Bottega. It actually was reminiscent of a cafe in Venice off the beaten path from St. Marks square.

This place is dark and doesn’t look very clean. The furniture is cheap and the ceiling tiles are stained. Wouldn’t call it an italian restaurant. I saw better looking pizza stands in Italy BUT the pizza was good. On the fence with this one.11 Jan, 2014This place is dark and damp and doesn’t look very clean. Great Neighborhood Italian Spot. STROMBOLI STEAK SANDWICH: $8.75; excellent homemade roll; very tender, thin strips of steak; provolone cheese is melted into the brown gravy, which binds the steak, mushrooms, and onions together; rather bland flavor, lacked seasoning (particularly garlic); Overall Grade = B+LASAGNA with ITALIAN SAUSAGE: $12.95; baked in a dish with copious amounts of cheese; not greasy like most lasagnas; served with a homemade garlic loaf (loaded with melted butter and garlic); generous portion but skrimped on the meat; Overall Grade = A-
