This, folks, is comfort food at its finest. I do carry-out most of the time, and it is always piping hot and flavorful. My favorite meat? The hamburger steak. I’m convinced that it has saved my life on more than one occassion. My favorite three? The parmesan grit cake. It is crisp on the outside and creamy on the inside. I insist on eating it with a spoon since I get the same pleasure cracking the surface as I do with creme brulee. Some of the negative reviews are surprising to me. The owner is a pretty neat guy, and the staff always seem super industrious. It’s one of the cleanest restaurants in Homewood. The food is superb. Do yourself a favor and climb up those steps!

I had the macaroni and cheese and turnip greens as my 2 sides with a roll. He had the mashed potatoes with gravy and the purple hull peas with cornbread.Everything was good. Nice atmosphere. We will be back.
