Favorite lunch place. I’ve been coming here for over a decade. even when I lived in Atlanta I’d do my best to pick up lunch here when I was in town. no frills, seriously good food. very reasonably priced
A truly hidden gem. Soon after moving to Birmingham I went online to look for hot dogs. It was hot and sunny and I had a serious need for chili dogs and beer (I’m not sure if they sell beer). With beer in my fridge the search was on for hot dogs and search I did; I passed the place twice! I promise you it is there and it is worth the trips up and down 18th. Now any time I get a chance to go there I do and am never dissatisfied with my order.
Only 1 problem. Mike’s changed management a couple of years ago. Mike, himself, trained the new owners. He gave over ALL of his recipes so that the changes would be minimal. The new management has not only added to the menu but to the building as well. Everything is yummy at Mike’s! You will only have one problem! Choosing what to order! You can’t lose!
Place is not the same!!!!! Not good anymore!!
Wow!. We stopped by Mike’s Hot Dogs after leaving the zoo yesterday. What a find! The hot dogs were amazing, and so were the burgers. The best part? The owners were so friendly and welcoming! We’ll definitely stop by again the next time we’re in Birmingham.
BEST BURGER ANYWHERE!. I work a few blocks from Mikes and didn’t try it for several years but people kept telling me how great it was, WOW was i missing out! Mike truly has the best burger I have ever had!!! The dogs are great too, but the burger is out of this world!! It’s huge and three bucks!!!! Amazing!!!
YUMMMMMMMMMMMM. The Hot Dogs are great…..but you can’t beat Mike’s Burgers!!! They are amazing to say the least, best deal in town too!! Actually, everything there is great! He and his wife are so pleasant too 🙂
