$5 for a coffee is hard to stomach, even if it is really good. Besides the high price, this place has a chronic issue of poor service. Every time I go in, there is one person taking orders and making drinks and assisting customers while 2-3 other employees are standing behind the espresso machine chit chatting. Numerous times I’ve waited aver 15 minutes for my coffee just to find out that the reason it hadn’t been made yet was because the person working the register was still busy taking orders and there was another employee literally standing behind the espresso machine letting drink orders back up while doing absolutely nothing. When I asked the employee not doing anything about my drink he asked the busy employee to stop and make drinks. It’s very off putting. The whiskey bar is usually well stocked but the bartender usually seems annoyed with customers.
I love going to octane, great coffee and espresso drinks. My go to is the iced coffee. I also enjoy their cocktails, the balances of the drinks are spot on and the menu changes with new concoctions a lot. I’ve had mostly friendly staff, can’t complain.

Octane. I get an iced coffee to go, which I learned to do after ordering an Americano and regretting that I didn’t bring Ulysses with me to fill the waiting time.
I went with high hopes to make this my new place to work/study. The music is unbearably loud. I have never been in a coffee shop that felt more like a club. I have nothing against the hipster scene, but I do wonder how productive people can be in here. I do not plan to come back to work and will have to find somewhere else to be in a more zen/serene environment.
Food and coffee are great. The service is abysmal. after waiting 30 minutes for iced coffee, i gave up, closed amazon and reddit, and went to get a smoothie. $4 wasted, all because they couldn’t see or ask about their own ticket
The overall experience just isn’t good. I don’t really care how good your coffee tastes if the people preparing it don’t seem to care whether your are there or not. And the coffee in and of itself…i can afford to find comparable/better stuff elsewhere. The experience and the vibe keeps me away. I had high hopes and really tried to like octane because my experiences in atlanta are always good. Customer. Service.It’s hard for me to like an establishment when the employees don’t seem to. And i’m not talking about an isolated negative experience; i’ve maybe had an isolated GOOD experience. Disappointing.
