Mostly known for his pizzas, but personally we thought the sandwiches were much better, more specifically, the turkey sandwich. Toasted with cheese on topyum yum. Good wine selection. One very good thing about this place is that the staff will do everything it takes to make you leave happy. If you are not satisfied with anything at all, they will stay at it until the issue is resolved.
Conveniently located to us in the Patton Creek Shopping center, at the suggestion of my daughter, we decided to give it a try.The design of the restaurant is contemporary and comfortable, with high ceilings and an open kitchen focused on what is billed as a wood-fired pizza oven, but appears to actually be gas fired. (Real wood fired pizza ovens are a challenge for anyone other than a real expertbut do provide a bit os smoky flavormissing from this place’s pizza) As we had heard, I was impressed with the beer selection which included a nice variety of local and regional craft beers on tap, a pleasant surprise for a chain restaurant. Large screen tv’s everywhere might make for a good place to watch a ball game, or at least catch up with the action while dining. The waitress arrived promptly and waited impatiently for us to order, such that I had to ask her to give us some time to survey the menu offerings. The menu was well organized and included a lot of variety of appetizersand pizza. However, they only came in one size (10 inches) and there was no option to customize your pizza with your favorite combinations. the appetizers looked fresh and inviting, but we skipped the appetizer and ordered the house salad (split between us as all salads are entree sized) and one of the pizza combinations. we ordered the Bronx Bomber, which included thinly sliced deli ham (that was billed as prosciutto), a spicy Italian sausage, sun-dried tomatoes and several different types ofcheeseon a tomato sauce base. Some pizzas came with an olive oil base, which is interesting. Our pizza arrived almost immediately after order, (suggesting it was pre- assembled and only had to be heated). Since it arrived before our salads we sent it back as the waitress has promised to send out the salads first. It looked like a wood fired pizzabut lacked the subtle smoky flavor of a real one.We enjoyed the salad though we felt like it had a too sweet house dressing. It came with a piece of sourdough bread, that was cold, suggesting the salad and the bread had been pre-made and sat in a cooler together. The pizza was tastybut seemed a bit skimpy on the toppings. Unlike some reviewers, ours was evenly cooked. All in all, the meal and service was satisfactory and we have no serious complaints. However, it was obvious it was a chain restaurant and thus over all, we judged it average at best. I wish we could get some locally owned original restaurants in Hoover!
This place is excellent! The servers, bartenders and staff are super friendly and the food is delicious! They will accommodate any special requests and if you want to order something off the menu, they don’t mind. In fact, they’re interested in customer feedback and are always expanding their menu based on what they hear, from what I can tell.
Sunday lunch was great. Ordered the 4X4 and Bronx Bomber – both great. Only issue was the cook does not understand they must spin the pizza in the oven to cook evenly. We had spots underdone and overdone as a result. Good, but it’s not Slice.
Excellent food. Fresh and quick every time. And best part is the service. Usually most place have one to a few bad waiter/waitresses. Upon going there I have never experienced a bad server. They have wonderful specials too. I recommend brixx.
Have been twice and have enjoyed in both times. Pies are a good size and have fresh ingredients and the staff was nice. Its fun to venture out with the different pizzas to discover different floors combinations. i recommend taking a few people with you, all order something different and share.
Lisa was our server. She was pretty good, had suggestions (which we took, and they were great!) pretty quick attentive service- she seemed to be busy. Pizza was fresh & delicious. Bruschetta was amazing – never had anything like it. Drinks, appetizer & 2 pizzas for less than $50? definitely got what we paid for!
