I have several groups of friends that go to Charlie’s Taphouse several times a week, or as often as they can. Yes, smoking is allowed but they’ve installed smokeaters recently. Half of the group do not smoke yet they still LOVE it. It is one of the only genuine neighborhood pubs left in this town. They have 30+ beers on tap, all the food is made from scratch as well. It isn’t your typical corporate chain sports bar for sure. It also may be to relaxed for some types of people, especially those use to the growing chain restaurants & family sports bars/restaurants popping upin every stripmall. It isn’t for everyone.yet somehow people from all walks of life continue to come back. Young, the 30-40something crowds,older folks, middle class and ones that could afford to go anywhere they desired. I have noticed they’ve had some staff turnover lately, which takes time to adjust… for everyone. Regardless, LOVE THE FOOD,BEER, STAFF and THE BEST PRICES IN TOWN..

I bought groupon went to eat for lunch only about 8 people in the whole place with one table that was a group of 6 having a good time watching the ball game. Food was not good at all. If you end up there with already having a few drinks in ya I’d say you’d be okay. The place smells horribly of smoke. I’m serious. Good luck!
Smoke Cloud!. Walked in the door and was hit by a thick cloud of smoke. Couldn’t leave fast enough. By the time I got outside I was coughing and my eyes were burning. How could anyone stand to eat in this place?
The best wings in birmingham hands down! Staff is very friendly and the atmosphere is a fun dive bar. Fyi Thursday is $2 drafts including high gravity!!
Smells bad.. Food is not good. Draft selection is good though.
