We LOVE this restaurant! We have tried lots of different vegetables and they are all fresh and delicious but the fried green tomatoes are amazing!
The restaurant is very small. The ambiance not so good. The food is delicious, but for the price, one would think you could eat from a plate with real silverware not from plastic bowls with plastic forks, spoons, and knives. I can eat at Niki’s west for the same price and eat off of a glass plate with real silverware and get the same quality food. I will eat here again but not often. Since they do not have to wash dishes, the overhead is lower. One would think the price would be a little more reasonable.
I really enjoyed my vegetable plate. The everything was hot and flavorful. I particularly enjoyed the black eyed peas and the Mac n cheese. The roll was an excellent addition to the meal. I was not fond of the pecan pie. Hardly any pecans.
Pros: Order was correct. The fried green tomatoes were good.Cons: Overpriced for the quality of food. It was $34.66 for 2 adults and one child with two sides each. The country fried steak with gravy was soggy. Im used to country fried steak being crispy with a little gravy on top. I spit out pieces as I was trying to eat. Yuck! The gravy on the mashed potatoes tasted greasy. The lady who took the order did not explain how their restaurant works. We were given a receipt and noticed our plates were sitting at the other end of the room. The people next to us sat for a while waiting on their food. A worker finally went to their table and told them to pick up their food. She did not even bother to offer to bring at least one plate to them. This restaurant gives of a very rude sense from their employees. Things need to change to make their ways clear to customers.I will not return.
Best place to eat in Hoover!!! SOOOOOOOO GOOD!!!
Apostrophe. Food is just ok. I just can’t get past the apostrophe in the name of the restaurant. Unless of course it’s owned by Mr. Tomato.
Delicious!. Aside from the girl at the register who coulld use some customer service training, everything was delicious. No complaints except that the on-line menu needs updating earlier in the day than 10:30. We wanted the green tomato okra fritters but they did not have them. The jalapeno hushpuppies were to die for! Love the bright and cheery space! Look forward to going back.
