  Great place to have a hearty meal. My best friend and I stumbled upon Metro Diner in Inverness about 3 weeks ago and have been two times since then. Service is fast, friendly, and attentive (especially Natalie). The food is divine! We’ve tried the Chicken Fried Steak with mashed potatoes and sausage gravy, the protein breakfast (4 eggs and your choice of two meats), their chicken salad, cheese grits, and the southwest omelette…all were generous portions and so delicious. I’m not sure what kind of coffee they brew, but it was good, too. It had a bit of a chickory flavor almost like Cafe du Monde. Will definitely be going back and working my way through the whole menu. 🙂

  This was our first time here. Overall, this was a great experience. We didnt have to wait because of the booth diner area had vacancies. I had the 2 egg breakfast with biscuits and cheese grits. My hubby tried their golden waffle with homemade strawberry butter! The entire staff was pleasant and polite. We enjoyed sitting and watching the food be prepared.

  All in all, we have been to this restaurant three times within the last 8 days. That should tell you how wonderful this diner is!!! The first time, my husband had Huevos Rancheros and I had the Big Bern’s Fried Pork Sandwich (that was HUGE) & coleslaw & macaroni & cheese. I ended up eating 1/3 of my sandwich and taking the rest home. We also took our friends who raved on & on about their Meat Loaf & Mashed Potatoes and Chicken Pot Pie. The second time, we took our son in law & daughter & grands with us. My husband & daughter had the Meat Loaf and Mashed Potatoes & so enjoyed it too! Our son in law had the Holy Davoli Burger which is two grilled cheese sandwiches that have a burger between them, he also added a fried egg to it too!! He barely could eat it all!! He loved every bite of it as well as his coleslaw. I had their Chicken Pot Pie which is so savory and loaded with veggies and chicken. Our grands thoroughly enjoyed their kid sized pancakes (silver dollar size) and chicken strips with fries! We all split the Strawberry Shortcake which was warmed pound cake with fresh strawberries and whipped cream!! Ever so delicious! Our last visit was for breakfast and we took two other couples. We all loved every bite of our Breakfast Pies, Biscuits and Sausage Gravy, Two Egg Breakfast and Apple Streusel Stuffed French Toast. All who had the hash browns praised how crispy and delicious they were. Each visit, we were warmly greeted like a valued customers which we liked!! All of our dinners and breakfast was fabulous with outstanding service with a smile. Run, not walk to Metro Diner in Inverness. They adore their Customers!!!
