Took my sister & her husband out to celebrate their recent move to Bham……menu appeared very appetizing but expensive; crab cake a huge disappointment after the waiter raved about it being the BEST in Bham (price was for the BEST in Bham); the salads were drenched in dressing and almost uneatable; pasta dish was also drenched in sauce & kept my husband up most of the night w/ heartburn/gas…..HUGE Disappointment and still feeling the singe of the bill which was what we would have paid for an upscale dinner for four. We will never return to this grill…………..They need a visit from Robert Urvine & the Restaurant Impossble team.
I had an awful experience here. I ordered a Tom Collins and got gin with water and a cherry. I think the bartender was having a laugh. I sent it back and stuck to water. The food took over an hour to receive. The waitress was overly nice and apologetic, I hope she moves to a better place where she doesn’t have to apologize for the food and slow cooks! My salad had watery leaves, the food was a puddle of grease. I was horrified to see others happy but I guess after a few bottles of wine, anything goes.
Always good. Hidden in a strip mall but keep returning. Took some friends out this time and it was a hit with them too. Crab Cake is hard to beat, sauces are divine.
Great Place to eat. My wife and I went to eat at Mickey’s tonight. We had Crab Cakes for an appetizer and then my wife had a bowl of Gumbo and I had a Crawfish Po Boy with home made potato chips. The food was great and the service was wonderful. The interior of the restaurant was like a New Orleans theme. Our waitress was Christy and she was wonderful. Go give them a try and ask for Christy to be your waitress
Great Food, Great Service. My wife and I had never been to Mikey’s grill until last night. It was our 10 year anniversary dinner and it couldn’t have gone any better. Our server Chris was excellent and answered any questions we had and made several recommendations from appetizers to entrees to desserts. Everything that we had was very tasty and properly cooked. The crab cakes lived up to expectations and are now ranked #1 on my best crab cake list. If you like seafood with a cajun flare, you must go to Mikey’s Grill. I had the seafood platter which consisted of a crab cake, grilled shrimp, fried oysters, and fried crab claws. My wife had the macadamia nut crusted red snapper which had this insanely good pineapple honey mustard butter sauce that we even dipped our rolls in because the sauce was so good. If they happen to have the banana cheesecake when you go, it’s a must as well. This is now one of my favorite restaurants because it is hard to find good fresh seafood in Birmingham, but Mikey’s Grill in Hoover is worth it. Cannot wait to go back!!
Real ok. Good service but high prices for what you get. The atmosphere one would expect from a strip mall location. Just really ok. Probably will not go back nor would I recommend it.
Love it. Be sure to ask for Chris. Really good food and even better service.
