Worst food ever. I’m not joking either. I had it last night and I still feel nauseous from eating it (or at least attempting to). Beans old and dry (some of our to go containers had beans with the dehydrated crust on them…looked pretty white looking from age) and I guess the rest were from under the crust of nastiness. The beans were slathered in canned enchilada sauce that you can buy from the store and probably used to hide the fact that the beans are not good. The rice tasted like fiesta instant Mexican rice…also slathered in enchilada sauce. The Enchilada sauce is canned red sauce. The ‘salsa’ is Pace Picante (at least it tastes and looks like Pace). I don’t know what the beef is as I did not try my husband’s beef dishes. The chicken chimichangas had canned chicken and again with the enchilada sauce. Let me state that I like enchiladas when I’m getting it from a ‘real’ Mexican restaurant AND when I order an enchilada…however I don’t want everything I order be covered in enchilada sauce as I didn’t order enchiladas so I don’t want everything to taste like an enchilada. Also I hate canned enchilada sauce so essentially my food was drowning in nastiness. Even if you go in knowing that this is not authentic Mexican food this is still one of the worst places to eat. However if you do eat here then I have heard the only and best thing on the menu is the Taco salad. I however do not eat out much and have a limited out to eat budget so I feel truly ripped off giving my money over for this.
It’s great and the staff is friendly. I l9ve the nachos, taco salad, and the chips. They have two types of cheese dip to choose from and serve beer. The place is clean too. It’s not my favorite, but it’s definitely good.
Disappointed. Speedys Famous Taco Salad is good, but not as good as it once was. Had been awhile since I had been there, the salad was just not the same, no tomatoes or olives on it. I also order nacho cheese dip, it looked and tasted like it was made from artificial cheese, not good at all, remained me of store bran cheese soup. At $3.09, should have been real cheese.
Awesome Nachos and chips
Spend your money elsewhere. This place is riding on the tails of long ago. Everything is cold and bad! The staff are fine, but if you see any value in the taste of food, Taco Bell is much better.
Here I sit at Speedy’s. Until about four months ago this happened at least every week. But about that time my husband I noticed dried up enchiladas, stale chips, and dry and crunchy (yes crunchy) refried beans. After going again hoping our experience was just a fluke we quit going. So here we are again and after stale almost chewy chips, beans so dry I couldn’t pierce them with my fork, I have to bid adieu to Speedy’s forever. All the other reviews are positive and I cannot understand why there are so many people always here and the drive thru is ao busy. Surely it’s not just us! Maybe if you come you will enjoy but I am quitting throwing my good money after bad!
Nachos are awesome! A bit expensive though. But I do recommend you try this place.
