The BEST food I have ever eaten. It brings back memories of Sunday dinner at my Grandmaws house. Low price for alot of food. I dream about the ox tails and rice!!
Good meats, canned sides. The meats were good that we had, hamburger steak and pot roast. The corn, yams, and potato salad that we had were store bought and not fresh. The Jesus eggs were yummy. People were nice. I want to like it but.
I love betty maes, when im not there im craving it. I’ve been once this week and I think I’ll be going again today!
G’s has seen the last of me!!. I was tired of McDonald’s or BBKing for lunch everyday and G’s Country Kitchen was over priced, busy, the food wasn’t that great and customer service was a joke. A friend at work suggested Betty Mae’s and boy am I glad she did!The food was amazing!! it tasted like food my mother used to make, only better!Great food at a great price! for food that warms both your tummy and your soul…go to Betty Mae’s. G’s has seen the last of me!
Went for Sunday lunch. You must have the Fried Chicken. It is only cooked as you order so it is always fresh and Hot!! The fried corn had little too much pepper for my liking but all in all a great home cooked meal with great prices.
Simply Delicious!!!!. After living in the South for some time and considering myself a pretty good cook, I didn’t expect to be overly impressed with the food but kept an open mind. Well, I’m certainly glad I did! Betty Mae’s exceeded my expectations! So much so that not only did I have lunch there, I ordered something for dinner as well! The oxtails were amazing, the fried corn was outstanding and the red velvet cake??…OMG!!!! Now understand…I am in NO way a red velvet person. But after the insistence of the owner, I gave it a try. 2 pieces later, I’m officially a red velvet by Betty Mae’s person! I’m trying to figure out a way to have one shipped to NY as I don’t know when I’ll be visiting Huntsville again! Betty Mae’s not only has great food but also has the Southern hospitality that you always heard about but wasn’t quite sure it actually existed. I’m here to say…at Betty Mae’s, it indeed does! Stop by. You’ll be happy you did!
Jersey White Boy Giving Props to Betty Mae’s. Just got to Huntsville today from NJ. Luv soul food, but never had real Southern soul food. At the mall I got a tip on Betty Mae’s. First, I was a little nervous going there, not sure how I would be welcomed. The owner could not have been nicer. I also spoke to two older gents who gave me some tips on what to eat. They had great ideas. I knew I wanted peas and yams, but one of the guys told me to get ox tail. I was squeamish at first. The man told me it was like beef. So, I went for it. Oh my Lord! Betty Mae’s ox tail was to die for. Juicy, fall off the bone, and good and fatty! A little bit of hot sauce and I was on cloud nine. Yams great. Peas great. But, the sweet potato pie was over the top. The crust was crispy, light, and flavorful. I could have just eaten crust to tell you the truth. The pie filling was good, slightly sweeter than my preference, but still excellent. Went to the hotel after lunch and took a nap….in other words…perfection. Think I’m going back tomorrow too.
