The Salsa Was So Fresh – You Could Taste the Sun, the Earth and the Rain in the Tomatoes!. This location of Casa Blanca is near a hotel park. I was in town on business and feeling tired after a day of travel so just walked to the nearest restaurant, not expecting much. I was pleasantly surprised. Most of all, the salsa was amazing. It took me immediately back to a vacation to Mexico, sitting on a wooden pier overlooking the Carribean with the freshest, simplest salsa and coldest beer I’ve ever had. It was lovely. I had a margarita. The liquors were of good quality. The other components were pre-mix, but not overly salty, sour or sweet. I ordered the Enchiladas Oaxaca. They were delicious. They reminded me of a Mexican version of that comforting creamy chicken mushroom rice cassarole your mom made you when you were little. The portion was huge. It will be lunch or dinner tomorrow. There were a lot of offerings on the menu. The prices were very fair. I saw nothing over $14 (that was shrimp and steak). My server was a lovely, gracious woman. I have nothing but praise. Like I said, I thought this would be a typical American-Mexican joint with cheap, indescribable meat topped with canned tomato sauce and liquid cheese over beans and rice. It was not. It was fresh, real ingredients, affordably priced and served with hospitality and grace. I am a huge fan!
