A Supurb Experience. I’d lived in Huntsville for 5 years before I discovered Shea’s. That’s not to say I hadn’t heard of them–their catering is legendary, and I’d much enjoyed the food when they provided it for several of my husband’s business events. I just didn’t realize it was also a restaurant until a friend of ours had his surprise birthday party there in the reserved Garden room. I was pleasantly surprised. The building it’s located in is unassuming, part of a strip mall set back from the road well enough you may not see it right away. But the interior blew me away–eclectic yet cohesive decor, earthy colors, fireplaces, varied seating, and friendly staff. But the most important plus being the service and quality of the food. The owner herself assisted the staff in catering to us, and the offerings were delightful. When I realized the restaurant is open 6 days a week for lunch, I had to come by and sample their regular menu. I was so difficult to choose just one thing! I left so impressed, I can’t wait to show this hidden gem to my family when they come to visit. I’m probably now ruined for bakery/sandwich/coffee chains like Atlanta Bread/Panera Bread. I have trouble justifying the choice of passable, semi-fast food when for a dollar or two more I could be served a gourmet lunch by pleasant staff in a uniquely inviting atmosphere.
Great Food. I love this food It is the best in Huntsville, AL everything i have ate there has just been over the top and the price is good for what you get.
My wife and I ate there for the first time last week. We waited 40 min for our food my wife ordered chicken gumbo it was so salty that it was uneatable. I ordered a pressed sandwich that was burnt. Over priced bad food won’t be back!!
I see some of their bakery products locally and cannot wait to try them!
Lots of attention to the details here, you can tell that the staff & owners care about this place, great service, delicious food, I had a spicy garlic roast beef on house made bread, it’s the best one I’ve ever had. the mint julep tea was very good & the chips tasted house made, hoping I’m in the area again to enjoy the food & taking it easy on the patio area 🙂 highly recommend!
Great Food. Other issues, though. Simply put, DAMN FINE FOOD.However, the service is hit and miss. I’ve had times where it took 45 minutes to get a sandwich and when it came it was cold (supposed to be a hot sandwich) because my food was sitting waiting to be taken out. They have flow issues where the ordering line intersects with the servers getting the food out. Bad design.I keep coming back because the food is so good, despite this issue.
Waited 15 minutes for the worlds worst iced coffee. Great atmosphere, too bad the coffee sucks.
