Wanted it to be worth #6 for best breakfast in Huntsville…. Stopped in to have breakfast on a Sunday morning around 11 a.m. and the place was packed with a line. I was hopeful for a good experience with the crowd. When we were finally seated, waitress was pleasant and helpful with menu. It took a while to get our food and when it came out, it was disappointing. Boyfriend ordered two scrambled eggs with cheese and just got two scrambled eggs. I ordered two banana pancakes and the bananas tasted like potatoes instead inside the pancake. His sausage biscuit and gravy were excellent and the price for the food was right. It was just a so-so experience for us.
Fast and delicious. I have been to both Edith Ann’s (the original as well as the new one on Pratt) a number of times and I can say that I’ve never walked out dissatisfied. The food is always hot and delicious, the service is fast and friendly, and you can’t beat the atmosphere. I highly suggest going for breakfast*

GREAT BREAKFAST & ATMOSPHERE. WOW! If you like eating at an old fashioned diner, this is the place for BREAKFAST. I have eater there on two occasions in August 2012. On both occasions, the air conditioner was working correctly, the atmosphere was outstanding, the people were VERY friendly and the cook prepared an excellent breakfast. The eggs were prepared perfectly, as were the hash browns and bacon. The biscuit and gravy was delicious with just enough sausage in the gravy. Refills on the coffee were quick and hot. I can’t think of anything that could of been done differently to make these visits very enjoyable!!
Very dissapointed. I have been eating at Edith Ann’s for a while now since Bruce was hired. My fiance and i went in yesterday and IT WAS VERY DISAPPOINTING. The diner was hot Bruce is no longer there,(if anyone knows where he will be cooking, please let me know.) the cook (I believe his name was Frank or Fred) was very slow. He appeared to be on something and the food was mediocre at best. We will not be returning to this restaurant under any circumstances. To those my Fiance and I have referred in the past., do not waste your time.
Soggy. Food as good as any other restaurant that serves this type of food. I have nothing negative to say about the food and the people are very nice and friendly. But the Five Points location needs to take a closer look at how they are handling Carry-Out orders. I have had a carry-out order 3 times and every time the bread was soggy and liquid items got mixed with others for example: My most recent order the beans were mixed with the turnip greens, the fried okra was put on top of the liver with gravy so they were a soggy mess, and the cornbread was wet. They need to prepare carry-out according to the type of food. Same box would have been fine for hamburger and fries but not items with liquids.
Pancakes should come with real maple syrup, not that synthetic manufactured crap they serve at fast food places. And they brought it in a industrial-sized jug. Kind of ruins the wholesome down-home feel they were going for with this place.
