They have a buffet, which is always a good way to try an unfamiliar cuisine. Enjoyed the creamy cucumber salad, potato salad, tasty pan fried potatoes, spaetzle with mushroom brown gravy and pork & chicken schnitzel. You can also order off the menu if you like. Enjoyed the meal so much, I didn’t have room for dessert. But my dinner companions raved about the strawberry cookie, blueberry cheesecake and Nutella cheesecake.

Good german food and beers on tap. Not sure how long they have been here, looks like it just got off the ground. Enjoyed, will come back again.

Great authentic German food!!It was a little difficult to find , but so well worth the search !I had the smoked pork chop with sauerkraut and warm potatoe salad …. And it was cooked to perfection! My friend had the wurst plater with three choices, and I must say the curry wurst was delicious. Awesome food, very friendly staff and owners and if course great selection of beer ! I would recommend this over the other German restaurants in town.

We went tonight after reading the Huntsville Times review. I was not disappointed! The service was great, with delicious food and generous servings. I had the Rahm pork schnitzel (OMG, the creamy mushroom sauce is divine), which came with slightly tangy, bacon-infused fried potatoes, wonderful red cabbage, and traditional cucumber salad (gurkensalat). Our server brought baskets of wonderful, crusty bread to our table as well. I highly recommend Hildegard’s…it’s a hidden gem, for sure! Waaaay less crowded than Ol Heidelberg too, with lower prices. Give it a try!

Fantastic place. Huntsville has several German resturants, the most well known being pretty darn good but nothing like what I remember. Here is a place that serves great food, reminiscent of what I actually ate in Germany and at a reasonable price! The service is just as great as the food and while you may have to look it is definitely a hidden gem that is well worth the hunt! Had lunch there yesterday, taking the kids today!

Loved this restaurant. The food is excellent and the staff very friendly, Save room for dessert. The Black Forrest cake is to die for.

Jaeger Schnitzel. Excellent schnitzel covered in mushroom gravy. Side dish of pan fried potatoes and red cabbage. MMMMM!!18 Mar, 2015Neatest new German restaurant in town!!. Hildegard’s Biergarten has recently opened and has all the goodness of Hildegards German Cuisine restaurant downtown. Obviously a different venue some lighter meals designed for lunch but my favorites from Hildegards downtown are on this menu as well. And then the best part – the Bier! Twelve German beers on tap, and I admit I havent tried them all, but I will!! Plus at least another dozen German favorites in bottles. Ive eaten there twice now and very impressed. Stopped for lunch as it is in a very convenient location from Research Park. Ordered a simple meal of a Brat with some kraut and red cabbage. Topped with their fabulous German style mustard loved it! Last night my wife and I ordered some cordon bleu and it was simply fantastic. The blending of the chicken, ham, and Swiss cheese was just perfect. Every mouthful was a perfect bite. OH! The pan fried potatoes are excellent!! The mix of country ham bits and flavoring make them just scrumptious. The atmosphere definitely shows talent of the decorator, and the continually running German concerts on the many video screens throughout the restaurant really keep the festive atmosphere alive!! Yeah. This place is a keeper. Put it on your list for someplace to discover. You wont be disappointed. 🙂
