Kroger Cafe – Buffet. I am still picking up food regularly. I just picked up a vegetable plate and I got lima beans, green beans with potatoes, and macaroni and cheese, and jalapena corn bread. It is all so good. I got beef stew, lima beans, rice, and a roll for my husband. I ate some of his-delicious!. The new chef is still there and his food is getting better and better. He is the Head Chef and his name is Mark Boles. Also, he prepares the good food in the deli. One of the most popular is the roasted chicken salad is very good and sells out quick. The soup selection located in the cooler is very good. Our favorites are the Roasted Sausage Chicken, Chili, and Thai Style Coconut Chicken Curry. Very good food.28 Jun, 2012Not cooking all summer, unless I have to!. I have been stopping by to get food from the buffet and the deli every week for about 2 months now. That is because the food has definitely changed. I was surprised to find the food is very good and now it competes with the southern food restaurants that I have been to around Huntsville. I had to call the Kroger Store Manager and give complements. I was right, the Manager told me there is a new chef at Kroger, and it was very obvious. The food is very good. As long as this new chef is at this Kroger, I am not going to cook all summer, except for cooking on the grill occasionally. There are other cooks there but I make always make sure the new chef has prepared the food I pick up there. I dont think the new chef will be there long. He is a culinary school graduate and a southern food restaurant might get him. His name is Mark.
