Great salsa and cheese dip. Everything else is just ok, but I’m not sure what people are whining about. It’s cheap Mexican food which should be exactly what you should expect when you walk in the place.
Meals were decent, but the environment was loud (drunk table nearby) and the staff stand-offish.. We had dinner there tonight. As we entered, there were people cashing out at the register, so we waited at the front podium for someone to greet us and were ignored for several minutes…even though the staff had seen us come in and were all nearby. When we were seated, I ordered a sangria. What I was served was a no-frills drink, sans ice or garnish. No fruit, no jazz; I did not recognize any brandy or soda water in my drink, but it was sangria and a decently-sized glass. The mild salsa was pleasantly light, reminding me of a gazpacho flavor, but nothing spectacular. The chips had a crisp texture and were enjoyable alone.I ordered the beef fajita and found that to be very tasty, also the accompanying rice. The meat was a bit chewy but the overall flavor made up for that. The guacamole was well-seasoned and fresh. For dessert I had ordered flan but was then told they had none, so instead ordered fried ice cream. What was presented to me was not fried ice cream. It was a large ball of vanilla that had been carelessly rolled in whole corn flakes, but not enough to cover the ice cream. Just a quick effort as a nod to what it was supposed to be. But it had not been dredged, covered in crumbles or fried. There was no coconut, caramel or chocolate dressing the delicacy, and the sugared shell was stale. I was presented with ice cream and corn flakes, not fried ice cream. For the price point, it’s worth trying, but as I now see someone else has mentioned the NOT fried ice cream in another review (2013), maybe dessert isn’t their strong suit.
Awesome little neighborhood Mexican restaurant. Don’t listen to all these negative reviews. These snobs were expecting some 5 star Las Vegas restaurant. Well, sorry to inform you, but it’s just a local Mexican joint in the neighborhood. But anyway, on to my review. Great place to eat. I love it. It’s small but perfectly small. I prefer a quiet atmosphere as opposed to a restaurant where you can hear the kitchen workers yelling to each other, kids running around unattended, etc etc. You don’t get that here. I mean the place has been in business for at least 5 years by now —- they must be doing something right!Great food. As great as you are going to get at a Mexican restaurant. Reasonable prices.I really enjoy having a Mexican restaurant in the neighborhood besides Taco Bell!
Very poor service by waitress who didn’t care that the order was wrong. Not crowded but had to wait to be seated and then waited long again to place and receive order. Even had to wait on the cashier to come in from outside so I could pay. They do not bring you what you order and they don’t seem to want to be bothered with their serving the wrong thing.
The food is either really good, or very bad. They charge you for chips to go with your dip that you order. The service is sometimes okay, usually lacking though. The margaritas are good every time. I work near their store and will not be going back.
Not Good. Consistency is very important and Los Mariachis is consistent, consistently mediocre at best. Located near my home and but very disappointing. I have dined in about 8 times and each time the same mediocre quality. Today I ordered carryout for the first time, ordering 3 full meal menu items. When I got to my car I realized I had only received 2 bags of chips and 2 cups of salsa to go with the 3 dinners so I went back in to get the 3rd bag of chips and the 3rd cup of salsa. When I made my request I was informed in extremely curt terms that 2 bags of chips and 2 cups of salsa was normal for 3 dinners no offer to let me purchase an additional bag and cup just a rude stare. Needless to say that was my last trip to Los Mariachis.
My Favorite spot. Been eating at this place for sometime now. The food is always good and they daily specials.
