Worst service ever!!!. Worst service ever. The visit on April 19th felt like total discrimination from the staff. The server was EXTREMELY RUDE. We never received all the food that we had ordered but was charged for all of it. When i politely asked to have the check corrected the serve got mad and started talking back, and mumbling under her breath as she huffed away. I ask for her attention to come back to the table but was ignored. She returned later to slam the ticket onto the table and walked away so fast I had to get out of my seat to go get her. I ask for the manager/ owner to come to our table. He NEVER was told by this server! He comes out and makes his rounds to every table in the restaurant except ours! Why?? I have to raise my voice to get him to come over. I attempt to explain to him what service we had received, but he didn’t care to listen. Never apologized about anything, snatched the ticket off the table, says I got this and STOMPS away while im talking to him. That was our service @ Meridian St. Cafe. I am local business owner of 17 years and resident of S.E Huntsville, if this is how I treated my customers I would have been out of business a long time ago.
There seems to be a lot of local appeal to this place and it was busy when I arrived, but I found the meatloaf and veggies sub-par.
Great breakfast! Have the western omelet, but it is enough for two!
Love this place!. For those who have lived in Huntsville since the days of the Snow-White Drive In on Whitesburg, these people have re-created a classic. The Club Sandwich is delicious! It is prepared the same as the sandwich was years ago at the Snow-White.They also have the best Fried Green Tomatoes in Huntsvilel
Would have been nice….. Went there for breakfast this morning. Got there at 10:22am, doors were locked. Sign said they closed at 10:45am. Ummm, was excited about there being one close by but, pretty sure they wont get another chance
Southernbelle’s bad day. Key to her and her boyfriend’s bad day at this cafe is the fact they went after church on Sunday which is their busiest day here. Lot of folks in this part of town get out of church by 11:30 a.m. and head straight for this cafe. This is a small place and they don’t fix unlimited quantities, so they do run out of some items on busy days. We’ve always been pleased with the food and are appreciative of a meat and veggie place–there are not enough of them in Huntsville!!
Maybe they were having a bad day…. So I like to try new restaurants and after church on Sunday I decided to bring my boyfriend out to the Bailey cove area to this place. We love the blue plate cafe so I figured we might enjoy this place. It’s your typical choose your meat and two veggies type place; however, the veggie items are obviously limited although they are featured on the menu. The boyfriend ordered macaroni and I got the green beans, and the waitress came back twice and made us choose new sides because they were out of those. We asked if we could wait for them…boyfriend waited for his macaroni , I just ordered some turnip greens and called it a day. After finally getting his macaroni it came out in a small bowl that consisted of elbow noodles in a mass amount of cheese flavored water. It was so awful we laughed about it. The peach cobbler was also cold. The food that they were not out of was okay though, I liked the mashed potatoes.I wouldn’t go back, it was nice to try somewhere new though.
