Ok, so this is a split review. I have never had any of the BBQ that was any good. Cold, over cooked and mostly dry. So much for the BBQ. Now for the positive side………………Hush Puppies and Catfish! Both of them are top notch and the best in the Tennessee Valley.That is why we keep going back………….Hush Puppies and Catfish!
I came here with high expectations but I left very disappointed. To me the measure of good barbecue is whether you must use sauce or not. good barbecue doesn’t require sauce. I ordered the pork ribs which arrived dry and overcooked. The only taste of barbecue was after I poured sauce over the meat. The ribs came with french fries and hush puppies. There was nothing special about the fries but the hush puppies were quite good. The staff was very efficient and cordial. I just wish I could find something positive to say about the food but I can’t.

Wrong my family of four sampled the bbq ribs, chicken livers, oysters and seafood platter. Nothing was good. Over half of the food was left behind. The oysters were super small and the ribs were fatty. The sides are way too limited.
The building is older than dirt. Just go to the new Greenbrier. It’s better. And about 100 years newer.
Worth the drive! Best hush puppies I’ve ever had. Great food, friendly service. The barbecue chicken was so good. I will definitely be going back.
BBQ- not. The pulled pork was not good. Bland, no smoke flavor. Sauce – un interestingI have yet to find a good BBQ place in this valleyWon’t go here again. Sorry.
Not so good. I have eaten here a few times in a four year period. The chicken is consistently very dry and lacks in flavour. Pulled pork not bad, but always has chunks of fat and other parts in it. Hush puppies are very good and so is the white sauce. There are much better BBQ spots in Huntsville than this one.
