**The address is correct, but the map is wrong. It’s just off of Five Points, just west of Dement (north side of Pratt), off of the road a bit.**It’s a muffin and coffee kind of place (no hot food) and the fruit was … not fresh. But I loved the attitude of the place. Nice and quiet with a groovy vibe. Also, the servers were helpful, open, and friendly.
Bad Vibes. So the first time I went in here the employee seemed bothered that he had to stop talking to a friend outside to serve a customer. Thought it may be a one time thing. So I went back several days later and the same attitude was given but from another employee. And the mocha wasnt all that. They may have some good roasts but the attitude ruined the experience. Besides that it has a nice relaxed atmosphere but I will not be returning.
It is a coffee shop. This is my go to place for coffee in the morning.I just get black coffee..nothing fancy. It works well.I tend to get the between 7:30-8:00 a.m..The few times I have been closer to 9, need to wade through the hipsters.
Not all bad. I came in early because they were open before the other coffee shoppes in the area. I had a great cafe Americano and a coffee cake muffin–and they were very friendly and pleasant in the service.
Old Towne missed the mark. I live quite close to this and was more than excited to try it for the first time. The person working behind the counter was rude to start. Not that she said anything directly rude, it’s just one of those cases where you walk up to the counter, and she doesn’t even ask what she can get you. You just stand there silently until you say hi and order. Then she just gets more thrilling from there… Well, I thought maybe I just went here when the girl was having bad day. Nope, got suckered into going again to be treated like trash twice. My sisters story is the same (which I found hilarious,) since she too thought maybe someone was having a bad day the first time around. And the place off the square treats you like crap, too, but it’s worth it as the coffee is so stinkin good. I’ll tolerate it like most people do. But at Old Towne you’re treated horribly for crap coffee. It’s disappointing to say the least.
We Can Do Better, Five Points. 1) Say you want one of the coffees on the smaller menu right in front of the register, more than likely they will be out of that brew. If you are out of that flavor, take it off the menu.2) Say you show up 15-20 minutes before the sign says it closes, the person working will either tell you that they’ve already cleaned everything and can’t make your simple little coffee. Or! They will just lock the door and wave at you even though they’re technically not closed.3) Say all you have is a $20 bill, some of the baristas will make you feel so horrible for giving them a 20 because they have to break that 20 later. I had one of the girl baristas actually throw a tantrum like a 2 year old because I gave her a $20 bill.4) A lot of the people that are there everyday are hippies who will complain about every little thing, and not do anything with their lives. Nor will they buy anything while they are down there most of the time. Please! Somebody open a better hang out in the Five Points area.
