Better get out on time. Pretty ridiculous eating with friends at Phils tonight and the closing time was 10:30 after we paid our check we were chatting a minute and at 10:37 they turned the lights out then back on like a signal for us to leave… I could understand if they had closed at 10:00 but really 7minutes….
I prefer Phil over rosies. I prefer Phils over Rosies period! Been there tons of times and always great! Those reviews that were negative must be those people that aren’t happy with anything!
Below Average. Don’t know where to start. The chips were flimsy, the sauce bland….I’ve never had a Taco Salad that didn’t come in a taco shell. The enchilada’s were mostly cheese. They have an extremely limited menu. For the money Taco Bell is a better deal.
Not so good.. My basic test for any Mexican restaurant is tamales. If they don’t make the grade the restaurant generally isn’t going to fair too well with me. My reasoning is, if they don’t do good on the inexpensive stuff, they lack an attention to detail that will be carried along to other items. I do like the unique feature of seeing tortillas made before your eyes, but that has been the only high point of this restaurant to me. It has more of a beer hall feeling than a restaurant. The price, pretty much like anything Huntsville overpriced.
Great lunch. I had the fish taco for lunch and really enjoyed it. This is the best Mexican I’ve found in Huntsville so far. Not the best I’ve ever had, but not bad. The chips were light and crispy and the salsa was tasty with just a bit of spice. The fish taco was filed with hot, lightly breaded fish. The fish was mild and a great taste, There were two types of slaw; a cabbage and an interesting onion kinda slaw type of side. Both were very tasty and good on the taco. The slaw was complimented with a tartar sauce that really brought everything together. They make their own tortillas in the restaurant and it was an interesting process to watch. I will be returning.
Not Mexican. Not Even Americanized MeXican. Service Is Adequate, Drinks Are GooD. Tamales Are Terrible. Not Sure HowTo Describe Food Except doused With Cheese.
Yummy. My husband and I have a passion for Mexican food. We moved to the Huntsville area late 2013 and have often said the only thing we miss is our old Mexican restaurant. We really like Phil Sandoval’s. The food is fresh, fast and delicious. We have always had good service and great food. You should go and try it out. Making me hungry just thinking about it!!!
