Reminds me a lot of any dive on the Gulf Coast. Marginal food quality, noisy, cramped and overrated.
Frequent diner. I go to po boy factory about once a month… One of my favorite places in huntsvile, the land of many great local restaurants… Anyway, the etoufee is to for for: creamy, dense and hot with heat and spice… Complete with that dirty grit crawfish factor that melds perfectly with flavorless white rice. Fried oyster po boy is favorite… That bread can be a meal in itself and is an honest nod to the origins of the place… Good, soft, crusty stuff that holds up the goodies inside just right. Dip it in that Orange stuff and I swanee… My only complaint besides the canned cokes is that the fried pickles are too salty and they come looking like a huge basket of Fried pickles when, really, what you have underneath is a mess of those Cajun fries. All in all, I love this place even though it’s always busy… Delicious
Why is your Jambalaya floating in watery liquid?
Shrimp Heaven. I ordered the Shrimp Basket at lunch and it tasted just as fresh as if I were eating at the gulf coast. I almost couldn’t eat it all it was such a large portion. The tartar sauce is awesome too! Highly recommended!
Forgot to add to that the staff was very attentive and friendly.13 Jul, 2014Food was good and satisfying. Service was a little slow (about 25 minutes for our food to come), but we were there on a Friday evening at 6pm. There were four of us and our bill was about $35 for a shrimp po boy, crawfish po boy, club, and one kids meal. We would go back again.
Shrimp po boy!. That’s all I get here… the only place I’d get one… unless i’m in nola!
