New Year’s Eve. We joined our dinner companions at 6 for a New Year Meal. The host was on the spot with our on line reservation. A staff member called earlier in the day to confirm. I appreciate that courtsey. A service team coordinated our meal. A porter kept the water up and bread flowing. The table captain joins us and my suggestions as to specials and cocktails. We opted for a cocktail from the bar and glass of outstanding Sauvignon Blanc.with my appetizer. Shrimp remoulade. It was expensive and well prepared. Other had fried lobster and raved about it around he table.Hard to order anything but beef at a steakhouse. My giant filet with bearnaise was cooked to an order med rare. Every Bite delicious. Everyone had beef and everyone was very happy. No dessert tonight. Stuffed with good food.About the service. Never rushed. Always attentive. All items accurate. I recommend the restaurant to anyone any time.

Filet was tender and juicy, no gristle, sweet potato casserole was amazing, better than mom’s or grandma’s, glaze/sauce on the veal ravioli appetizer made the dish. Service was excellent, more than enough attention, very warm and friendly.

My wife and I recently celebrated our anniversary at Ruth’s Chris. This was my first time at any Ruth’s Chris, though my wife had been for lunch a few times. This would not have been our first choice for celebrating our anniversary, but we had a gift card and decided it was time to give it a try. The service was excellent, we never had to wonder where our server was of if our drinks would be refilled. Bread was quickly brought, although I must say the bread is nothing special. It is simply hard, cold, plain white Italian bread, I would have expected something fresh or at least warm and flavorful. We started with the bbq shrimp appetizer, which was pretty good, 6 decently sized gulf shrimp sitting on a bed of creamy sauce and came with a wedge of buttered toast. My wife got the crab bisque, which came in a large bowl and she enjoyed, though it was not the best she’s ever had. I got the iceberg wedge salad, which I should have trusted my gut and just avoided. Not bad, per say, but also nothing really special. For our entrees, I ordered the filet and fried lobster (which I had heard rave reviews about) while she got the filet, stuffed chicken and crab cake. My filet was excellent, cooked to perfection, nice and juicy, perfect medium rare. The fried lobster tail was also very well done, crispy on the outside but moist and succulent on the inside. Her meal was also excellent, though surprisingly of the three entrees her favorite was the chicken. She says it’s because I make such excellent steaks at home (which I do). To finish it off we tried the chocolate sin cake, which was delicious, plated wonderfully with a happy anniversary message spelled out in chocolate sauce. Overall, we were extremely satisfied with our meal. Great service, good food, and a great night. Would we go there again for another special occasion? Probably not for dinner. I’d rather head up the street to Cotton Row, which for the same price is just a notch above where Ruth’s Chris is. But thanks to Ruth’s Chris for helping us celebrate with a delicious evening!
