Love this place!. My wife and I went to the Steak ‘n Shake in Huntsville, Alabama several months back rather late at night (11PM), and were greatly surprised at the great service, the great food AND great prices! Everyone was pleasant and cordial, and we have been going back ever since! Howard and Destiny are our favorite servers, and recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants great burgers at a great price in the Madison County area!
20-Minute Checkout Wait & Bugs!. Our server was great! That was the only good part.At 9:24pm, on May 1st, 2013, we got up to checkout. A party of four young men stood infront of us, all paying individually, and the cashier FLIRTED with them while we waited in line … We waited for 20 minutes JUST so she could flirt and hand two of them cookies.Okay, I’ve worked in the restaurant business before, and yes, you have customers who like to talk but 20 minutes is VERY unprofessional and the whole time, the manager worked the food line (young woman, ponytail, black shirt, khaki paints) and said nothing and did nothing about this.Lastly, the ice machine or bin needs to be cleaned out. There was a dead ant in the ice cube.Seriously.. The server was the only good thing. Young, African-American boy. Needs a raise or needs to find a better place to work; he’s too good for this flop of a business.
Needs help!. Went for dinner one night. Service was horrible. Empty tables, had to wait to be seated and our party of 8 was crammed at a table for six. Not enough staff to seat people or clean tables. Food was just ok. My son got more fries with his kids meal than I did with my meal. No refills on drinks. Two parts of order was not brought out at the same time as rest of table. Bowl of chili sat in window for over 5 minutes. When asked about why it was sitting there, waitress stated that she was waiting on burger to be ready. Chili and burger were for two different people. Ordered milkshakes to go. After 20 minutes they were brought out in glasses. Had to request to go cups and wait for those. Vanilla milkshake was nasty tasting. Finally just went to register to pay without ticket. Will not be back.

TERRIBLE SERVICE. Arrived 9:50 on Labor Day…..seated 15 minutes later. Order taken at 10:10, food arrived at 11:15. Finally got coffee at 10:30. Only one server and one server/cook on duty on a holiday morning when everyone goes out to eat. Absolutely terrible management decision. Other servers finally arrived around 10:50 AM and began cleaning tables, seating people etc., but the preparation of food (even though another cook was now on board) was really slow, as was the coffee service.. When food finally arrived, it was not as ordered—ordered eggs over medium and received eggs well, well, well done almost rubber—-tasted like someone dumped a load of salt on the meal—also gravy cold. Overall, a really bad experience. I’ll never return for a breakfast on a holiday to this restaurant.
Awful service. I’ve been there a number of times with friends, and we are never out of there in under an hour. Never. A friend and I visited when they were otherwise completely dead, ordered a milkshake each, and still had to wait for more than 20 minutes to get them. Typically, the order is also wrong.I want to like it, I really do….
Very poor service. It took over thirty minutes after we were seated to get our drinks and over an hour to get our food.. which came out wrong and had to be sent back. The general manager was very rude and unprofessional when speaking about the unsatisfactory service we received. Will never be returning to this restauant.
