Service was prompt. Waiter knowledgeable and pleasant. Breading on catfish was light and crispy. Okra had sparse breaking and was small in size. The hush puppies were amazing – light, crispy exterior with corn kernels and visible seasoning inside. Turnip greens were also well done – smoky with the right amount of seasoning. Overall a positive experience.
I have now eaten at Walton’s on two separate occasions and the food was outstanding. The service was a little weak tonight hence the 4.5 rating. Thanks for another great meal.
Great!. In the world of meat and threes Walton’s is my Tennessee Valley spot! Fortunately it is only 2ish miles from my home which makes curbside pick up a breeze and saved me from cooking a family meal on several occasions. What I love…the service because everyone that has waited on us has been helpful and friendly, the food because 95% of everything I have ordered and everything my friends/family have ordered has been hot, fresh and tasty not to mention consistent and lastly, the atmosphere…not your typical greasy spoon meat and three with the dcor reminiscent of Grandmothers dining room. What I would improve on….well, that 5% of food leftover that I didn’t enjoy was to salty. I found the spinach and greens way to salty for my taste everything else has been fine though. One other improvement would be to up the portion size or lower the prices a tad. A wee bit pricy for the portions but all things considered that would not stop me on any given day from going. Happy to have a great restaurant up the road! 🙂
Delicious!!. Atmosphere and service was just as good as the food! Sort of a Cracker Barrel type food but way above CB quality and taste….and quantity!! Southern cuisine with a touch of class!
Better than a meat and three. Two couples ate here on a Wednesday, about 6:45pm. Seated promptly. Server was quick, polite and knowledgable. They were out of the prime rib, we re-ordered fried chicken, meatloaf. Food arrived quickly and hot. VERY TASTEY!! Server was attentive, not obtrusive. We (all 4 of us) are going back tonite.
Thomas L. Willaims. Ordered fried Chicken and fried green tomatoes.My chicken was way over done. Fried way too much. You could not taste the breading and it was dry. Same for the tomatoes. Sliced too thin and fried to a crisp.Right now, my wife’s fried chicken and tomatoes win hands down.I like your restaurant, and this is the second comment I have heard about your frying all the taste out of the food.Please correct this before it is too late.Thanks
Cathey C.. We went there on a busy Friday night and it was packed. Waited just a bit for a table and got a server right away when seated. He gave us time to look over the menu and didn’t rush us, but was very knowledgeable, professional and friendly. What was amazing is how fast the food came out – we ordered the rosemary grilled chicken with 2 sides and the fried chicken – both very flavorful, hot and the sides were very good. Iced tea was replenished before we had to ask, our server was great. All in all a very good experience, tasty well cooked food and we will be back. When we left there were probably 40 people waiting for a table. Probably a good idea to call in for reservations. They are closed Mondays for continued training for the servers.
