First time eating at Fantail last Saturday night and I think it was one of the best seafood buffets I’ve seen, certainly a good value for the price. Yes, it is mostly fried items, but I also enjoyed the grilled/broiled? fish. I loved their fried oysters. I don’t live locally but given the opportunity to visit the area again, I plan to come back.
LOVE IT!!. Yes it’s fried food mostly, but we love it!! We drive in fron Montgomery to eat here. LOVE the Fried Dill Pickles. My daughter could eat her weight in Boiled Shrimp!! Try it, you’ll like it!!
Tasted ok when I was eating it but my stomach hated me later. Almost everything was fried. I like fried stuff but this was just too much.
Fried Seafood-Lover’s Paradise. I agree with a previous reviewer (Fun4All) that the Fantail is for those who truly love all things fried. I fall into this category of folks and I love the Fantail. The fried oysters are the best I’ve found and I’ve searched far and wide.The seafood gumbo is very good too. I’ve had good boiled shrimp there, but they are very inconsistent with that item. It’s different every time we go.Some people can’t handle their fried food and I admittedly can’t handle it quite like I could when I was younger, so this restaurant isn’t for everybody. It’s fried. It’s greasy. It will probably require you to have an Alka-seltzer or three later in the night, but I still love it.My plates generally consist of fried oysters, fried shrimp, fried catfish, fried imitation crab, hushpuppies, cole slaw, gumbo, and boiled shrimp. Their tartar sauce is a little different, but it’s very good in my opinion.
Fried Food Heaven!. If you are a fan of fried food, you will love Fantail! I don’t like fried food, so I don’t love Fantail. Yes, there are items that aren’t fried, but they are in the minority. The Fantail is good if you like their specialty – fried food.
Fantails is the best! Delicious food at a great price! Great atmosphere & good southern hospitality at its best!
