My server Katie gave me biscuits. Katie was a swell server. Katie gave me a biscuit. Katies biscuits she gave me were reeeeal good. Katie knows how to serve, and give me biscuits. I like her cracker barrel biscuits. She was speedy and gave me the attention I needed. Thank you Katie for the biscuits.
Went to eat at 10:30 with my family and never got breakfast menus. I ordered an oven fried chicken meal. After another server delivered all the food except mine, we waited 10 minutes for our server to come to our table. I asked about my food and she went to check on it only to come back and tell me it was sold out and I could have chicken and dumplings or meatloaf. I didn’t really want either, but I was rushed and got the dumplings. How in the world is a dinner item sold out at 10:30 AM and the server doesn’t know or bother to check until 10 minutes AFTER our food was served?
Sturdy chairs necessary.. I have never been to one of these places, but I wanted an egg breakfast, and they alway have a bunch of cars in the parking lot, so they must be doing something right. It was them or the Waffle (awful) House.It appeals to a certain class of people, country folk who have don’t count calories. As I walked in they offerered me a fee sample of apple crisp — really good and really sweet — it almost spoiled my appetite. The $6.99 old timers breakfast had plenty of food –Ii did not finish it. With the choice of hash browns or cooked apples — I choose the latter, and they were as sweet as a desert. Though billed as thick cut, the bacon was NOT, but they gave you a fair (more the 2 rashers) portion. Not bad, I would go again, but not wait in line ever.
Mediocre. This is our occasional breakfast place when we are running around on Saturday mornings, really only because it’s our only option besides fast food. And it’s hard to do low cal/low carb at a fast food place. CB does have a ‘low carb’ menu, I’ll give them that (though no nutritional info on their website, so it’s hard to tell how truthful they are).Anyway, service is hit or miss; sometimes it’s good, sometimes it’s bad. I do like the ambiance and the store, but that’s about it. Breakfast is always just mediocre. The coffee is almost always watery. We would just run home and make ourselves a much, much better breakfast, but sometimes you just want to sit down and be served a nice meal and not have to deal with the dish, aimiright? Why is there not a nice cafe in West Mobile that does breakfast? Sure we could drive all the way over to Spot of Tea, the Tiny Diny, etc; but that would be way out of our way. Anyone? Anyone?
Cracker Barrel Still allows Smokers…. What in the world.. You are a family establishment.. Smoking is horrible.. I love your food and will change my vote to like it once you have banned smokers inside.. If you ban smokers you will loose six tables but Gain 12.. get on it..
