prices are great! some of the best mac and cheese I have ever tasted.. the catfish is quite tasty as well as many of the lunch specials that they serve daily. Great service. don’t come during busy lunch hours.. try 1;30-2

the roast beef blue plate special is one of my favs. I always get mac n cheese, onion rings ( or fried okra) and turnip greens.. you get three sides and a lot of meat for $10.. can’t beat that price.. also the fried catfish and shrimp poboy are both equally good.. good service a little busy around lunch but worth it.

Very casual but a very good menu. Always busy. I don’t think I’ve never had to wait. Burgers, sandwiches, fresh seafood (fried or grilled) and great gumbo. Prices are very reasonable. They also do a very good job of preparing and packing to-go orders.

Great home cooked meal. I recommend any blue plate special. The fried chicken or fried fish is good. All the sides are decent. My favorite thing to order here is the banana split! It is sooooo good. The waiters are really great here. Top notch service.

Hamburger steak. I just don’t understand why this place is always busy. This is my second time to eat there and again I’m disappointed. I love good ole southern food and maybe that’s the problem…I’m expecting something good. lol. I ordered the hamburger steak with mashed potatoes and gravy. The hamburger was obviously something that was purchased frozen but to make matters worse, they burnt it. Also the mashed potatoes are instant. Yuck. I just don’t understand how this place stays open. I wish them luck because it’s a local business but they really need to change something up in my opinion.

Wow! home cooking at it’s best!. This is one of those places that you have to love down home cookin to appreciate it. Everything is basically made from scratch.. even the salad dressings. We had a young guy as our waiter. He looked the part for sure. Even his hair looked like he stepped out of the 50’s! We loved it!! He was very polite and took great care of us. We have only been here 3 times so far, but it is quickly becoming one of our favorite places. The seafood is great especially the crab claws and catfish. I saw a couple poboys come out and they looked great. Any blue plate special you can’t go wrong with. The sides are great as well as the cornbread!! I recommend the fried okra or turnips. The manager ( the same one) has spoke to us all three times. Very good service and food. The sweet tea is really sweet just the way my husband likes it haha!
