I am a Buck’s regular and the bad service is something you come to accept because the pizza is so good. The florentine stromboli is my favorite and the appetizers are all good.
Bad bad bad. So the first time we tried this place was during mardi gras …. everywhere downtown was packed. We managed to finally get a table and the food and service were both pretty bad. I didn’t think much of it and blamed it on the fact they were slammed with people from mardi gras. Well my wife and I decided to give them another try a couple weeks ago. The food was better and the service was much better. It was good enough in fact that we blew off what happened during mardi gras and decided we would come back again. Well …. we came back in for another visit yesterday and although the restaurant was fairly empty the service was absolutely horrible and the food was subpar. I think it is safe to say that we will not be returning or recommending this establishment to anyone in the future. I can see bad service and food once but not 2 out of 3 visits.
Pizza was great, crispy thin crust. Beer was a bit overprized. We loved this place.
SERVICE IS PITIFUL. I went to Buck’s today for lunch. I, like most people who go to eat lunch there, only have an hour to do so. Our waitress (whose name I should’ve gotten) is a short middle-aged lady with dark hair and a very poor attitude. We were not greeted when we sat down and, once she finally made it over to take our order, it was another 45 MINUTES before the order was ready. Take into consideration also that it took her at least 10 minutes to get our drinks and someone at the table ordered an appetizer that was ready the same time the rest of the food was. I had to repeatedly ask for my ticket and, even so, still had to get a different server to print it out for me. To make things worse, she was not friendly and would not apologize for the lousy service. Instead, she kept blaming everyone else in the restaurant for her shortcomings.I will not be back as long as she works there.
Stromboli. I’ve been twice. Will definitely go back. I had a meat-lovers stromboli and it was delicious though a little salty from all of the pork. The crust was scrumptious. Service was a little slow even though there were only a couple of other people in the restaurant. I used a coupon, making it a pretty good deal.
Last experience. Although the pizza is good, and it better be for the price, the service could definitely improve. They seem to more concerned with getting you in and out quickly, rather than making sure you have an enjoyable dining experience. Maybe their corporate office needs to examine their management’s procedures for this store. From what I hear, they have a very high turnover rate of their staff members, must be a reason.
