Tried it today after hearing all the rave reviews. Naturally, I went for the Butch burger. It was good, but not sure about award winning. Probably won’t go back just because $14 for a burger lunch is a little pricy, but if you don’t care about that, the food is good.
Food is delicious and reliably good comfort food. Service- not so much. Had to wait over 5 mins on hold to place an order and just gave up…
The Burger. Located on Florida Ave just south of Old Shell Rd, a carne node like a pub, that has a great burger, called The Butch Burger, comes with choice of fries, cole slaw or potato salad. I went with fries, they are while potato wedges, crispy just slightly salty. The burger, come with all the trimmings as it should, for me the thought of adding all these fancy sauces just does not go well, and hinders the flavors of all the food groups that make this great burger. I sat at the bar, and the bar tender was pleasant, I ask for nothing or less. Parking here is ale,thing to note, with limited spaces in front, you’ll need to park in back or in the side, just be aware. Another gem on Old Shell Rd that can’t be missed.
A Top-Tier Well-Made Burger!. Butch Cassidy’s has been a favorite for almost 20 years. I’m not entirely decided if I like it better than Callaghan’s, but after this last visit, it’s hard to imagine anything better. The flavor of the grill is so strong, the meat is so tender, and all of the condiments are so lovingly applied, that this is the stuff of a love affair. I would crave this burger over either of the burgers I’ve tried recently at New York’s Spotted Pig, and Minetta Tavern.It’s surprising to see so many people who think this burger doesn’t live up to the reputation. The reputation came from making one of the most fantastic burgers that I’ve ever tasted. Butch’s is still at the top of its game!
Overrated.. My boyfriend and I went there after seeing the commercial for their burgers. He ordered the famous Burger and I ordered a Patty melt. The food was BLAND. The only good thing was that the food was cheap. We probably won’t return.
Decent Bar Food, But Other Issues. We have been going to Butch Cassidy’s for a few years, but I’m increasingly not into it. Can the owner(s) not afford a decent A/C unit for this restaurant? And also, the bathrooms are disgusting. The place stays packed and in spring, summer and fall, it is sweltering in there. I mean, really? Just seems that they want to make money without putting much back into the business. Our last time there, I decided I was fed up with waiting in the heat for an hour for our food. Just too many other restaurants that are more comfortable and adequately staffed to meet a crowd. You can only aggravate customers so long before you are written off — hope they read these reviews.
