A very small unassuming spot that smells the delicious smoked bbq. The brisket sandwich I had was the most tender brisket I have ever had. Awesome! They could use better sides- no potato salad? No baked beans?

Really good BBQ. Had the pork sandwich, seasoned fries, and coleslaw. All were great! Wish they were opened on the weekends, just for me.

Mo’ BBQ, mo’ better. Loaded brisket potato was delicious. Food was prepared quickly and service was nice.

Pros: Walking in…. Pros: Walking in, I like the atmosphere, the menu is straight to the point and no confusion. I had ordered the pork sandwich and side of slaw. Me being the barbacue master I am , I find it a challenge to find good barbacue in Mobile. The pig usually sold in this region are overcooked or over sauced, the meal I had at Cotton State Bbq was neither that. Was not the traditional pulled pork but a thinly sliced, pilled high amount of pig on a bun. The side of cole slaw was also good, it does have a strong vinegar flavor but it complements the barbacue well. I look forward to trying the other items on menu. Cons: Silverware was provided in a Terry towel cloth, I didnt know what to do with it. The hours of opperation is the same of every other restaurant downtown, they close at 2pm.
