A lot of mixed reviews here. Seems people either love Dreamland, or they hate it. So here’s MY two cents, and that’s about what it’s worth. Just a note, this makes my second Dreamland location to visit.Bread and sauce do NOT an appetizer make. Cheap.I come from Memphis, with MANY Memphis in May BBQ cooking contests in Tom Lee Park on the River under my belt. That being said, these ribs were inedible. They were SO TOUGH! When my server asked how everything was, I told her the truth. She stated that their ribs were not barbecued in the traditional sense… not slow cooked for hours on end or marinated so the meat is tender. She stated that ribs were cooked for about 45 minutes over high heat, and then brushed with sauce. Folks, that is NOT BBQ, that is grilling. And ribs don’t grill well. While I loved the flavor VERY much, the meat was tough, and I didn’t enjoy them at all.
Just left this location for dinner. Service was great and food was good. BBQ sauce is too spicy. Server told us that the sauce has just become spicy this year and brought us something to mix it with. Need to go back to the old sauce…this sauce is inedible.
The rib sandwich is the best. I love this place and the bbq is so divine. I love to get the bbq rib sandwich. It is so tender and delicious. I also love their smoked sausage. The owner and staff are so friendly and kind to me and family. They make us feel at home. This is by no means a fancy place, prepare to get your hands dirty and sticky. It is def worth a try and dont forget the banana puddin!!
BBQ Heaven. If you are a lover of BBQ, Dreamland is one you should add to your list. With so many differenct BBQs around the country from sauces to dry rubs, they are all unique. The service was great and nicely attentive with refills for tea and coke. You first start with some bread, and that sauce, which is great for dipping the bread. I went with the Chopped Pork plate which comes with 2 sides, a nice portion of meat, and about a 1/3 cup of beans and cole-slaw. The pork, had some great tastign chard pieces, and you can tast the seasonings o fthe meat. The bean has a nice kick to them, and the cole slaw was a creamy kind, not too heavy.
Not Good Anymore!. This place has gone down hill! I remember their food used to be decent some years ago, but not anymore! Not sure what happened, but the ribs are dry and tough, and my pulled pork was mainly gristle! Not sure if I will return.
Horrible. I was headed to mobile to play some golf in the gulf coast classic and decided to stop because me and my buddy were in the mood for bbq. He is an overweight guy and even he could not stomach the food. The place looks and smells very appealing but I must say the food is awful. Its like they just boiled our meat and put it on our plate. Cant complain about the service but I tell you from a guy who is not at all picky eater, the meat here is just awful
Don’t let the smoke from the stack fool you, this is terrible bbq. I can’t believe they are in business.
