Very good food, service, and very reasonable. Its great!I have eaten here 30-50 times over the years and it is always good.Sometimes the music is too loud…that’s my only complaint.
What was that?. My wife and I go out every Friday and try someplace new every time. This place looked good in the reviews and the menu looked amazing. Total let down. Bad food and presentation. Please avoid this expensive crap shack.
Lentil soup. I have never found better lentil soup than the one served at Jerusalem Cafe. Ask for extra lemon wedges and fried pita croutons to put on top. This is the soup that I requested when I was sick with a cold because it is that good.
Authentic and Fresh. I love this restaurant. The atmosphere is upscale/casual. The food is fresh. Since moving to the south, I find there is a tendency to overcook the vegetables. It is refreshing to see vegetables that have retained their color and aren’t swimming in butter. Every meal has been wonderful. I bring visitors regularly and highly recommend it to anyone looking for authentic mediterranean food. Try the Lentil soup, you won’t be disappointed.
Try the buffet–great food and a great value!. After seeing several reviewer comments about the prices being a bit high, I must recommend trying the Jerusalem Caf for their buffet. At $13.95, I was blown away by the broad selection and quality of the foods offered. The lamb shanks are delicious and fall-off-the-bone tender, the shawarma was moist and flavorful, the curried chicken had just the right spice level, and the baba ghanoush has a smoky essence that is just delectable. The grilled veggies and salads are very fresh, and although I haven’t tried the desserts, they look quite tasty.I have only two critiques. First, the cucumber yogurt sauce is thin and needs more lemon and garlic. Second, when I ordered a gyro salad for lunch one day, I was surprised when it arrived with an orange flavored salad dressing. (I don’t like fruit mixed in with savory foods.) However, these are both small matters of personal taste. Overall I have been thrilled with the food, and look forward to many return visits.
Great!. I’ve only had the Gyro, and it was delicious! I have not had Zorbas in the same area, but I may update this after I do just so others can have an opinion between the two.
Try the Jerusalem Feast. I have eaten here a number of times and sent co-workers from out of town here as well. Everyone likes it. Some of the dishes are a little small. I highly recomend the Jerusalem feast. You get humas, grape leaves and some fried chickpea donut things for appetizer, followed by lamb and chicken kabobs, gyro meat and a spiced ground beef kabob along with rice and veggies. More than I can eat, and I eat a lot.
