Where can I start, my husband and I have been there over 25 times. The salads are big and fresh. I LOVE their steaks and their Fried Shrimp are perfect. The wait staff are friendly and very attentive. I’ve had other dishes which were good but their steak and shrimp are my favorites.
Very bad experience for us. I only choose Judy’s because of the review on US. SERVICE WAS AWEFUL Let’s just say my two black teenage boys were very uncomfortable there. I took the opportunity to teach them on how to respond when you are mistreated. We ate the food paid our bill with 20% tip however we will NEVER go there again.
True Home Cooking.. This place is great, Judy’s is a true home cooked meal, the Meatloaf is great, no ketchup in her recipe. I have eaten lunch there several times and have never been disappointed. I hear their dinner menu is even better.
Country Cooking. This is one of those places that I have seen for many years but never gave it a try until reading some of the reviews. First of all I tried to get across Government Street into the parking lot and while waiting 4 cars turned in, one after another. The parking lot was full – so by this time my opinion was that it had to be good being this popular. I was not disappointed with the food. Judy’s had a good variety to choose from and a good amount of sides as well. The seating was a little cramped and being one of the only females in a flood of men was interesting. I enjoyed a hamburger steak with macaroni and cheese – the brown gravy was my favorite part, reminding me of a meal I use to eat as a child that I loved dearly. We also gave the dumplings a try as well as a hamburger and the opinions of everyone was the same. Tasty and filling food for a resonable price.

Know what to expect.. I heard about this place from a friend but he didn’t elaborate at all only to say they have great food. I had seen it numerous times when taking Government/ Hwy 90 into Mobile from I-10. Everyone should know up front that it is a bar. This is not a family place in my opinion, not a place suited to bring kids. I dropped by one evening on my way out of Mobile having been over there on business, it was about 4:30ish and I thought I’d grab a bite of dinner before I left. There were some folks drinking at the bar and a few other patrons there when I got there, a couple was being seated right ahead of my and I was seated next to them. The seating is rather close in this place because it is very small. The waitress gave me a menu and I noticed that even at 4:30pm it was still a lunch menu. The couple next to me asked the server before I had a chance to if they have a dinner menu. She told them, we don’t serve dinner before 5pm! I was dissappointed because I really wanted to get a steak, but I was stuck with the lunch options instead having gotten there a half hour too early! I had some chicken and two sides and a dinner salad. The chicken was good, so were the potatos but the mac-n-cheese I think was the late afternoon pot scrappings, cold, hard and not good. The ranch dressing for the salad was some of the best ranch I’ve had in a long time, you can tell it is homemade. The service was good, the food came out quickly. Now, I know they have strict rules here regarding the lunch and dinner service. I want to go back after 5pm and try something off the dinner menu. My only recommend to Judy’s place would be maybe add a small steak of maybe a steak sandwich to the lunch menu. They offer a hamburger steak, but that isn’t the same in my book.
