  Great time in downtown Mobile last night 2/18/17. Mardi Gras parades then just enough time for dinner before the ZZ Top concert at the Saenger. With the large crowds of parade and concert goers we were fortunate to have our hostess Paulette give us options which we chose the first open table. Greg our server was very helpful knowing we were limited on time, his suggestion was ready in no time and we were able to enjoy our meal before concert doors opened. The Nachos were delicious. Thank you Paulette and Greg.

  Some familiar and some original dishes. Nice take on seafood and properly prepared. I especially like the fish or shrimp soft tacos with the Island Slaw. The also like to put ingredients together you might not consider otherwise. Swamp Stew anyone?An extensive selection of beers and daily specials makes this one of my comfort spots.

  We went in for lunch at the one on Airport by Providence. We placed our order at 12:25, at 1:00 still no lunch. We had to get them to pack it to go and the fish tacos were cold and nasty. The manager knew what was going on and never came over there. We were told they had a big table and someone was new in the kitchen. This was the second bad experience there so we will NEVER go back.

  Montego’s was so much better when they first opened. Now its just a mess. Taco’s were served cold. We were here an hour and a half and not once were our drinks offered to be refilled. Service was lacking, we had to call to servers to get their attention, otherwise they would repeatedly walk by our table as if we weren’t there. Seems like some of them only wanted to serve certain tables. The menu has changed for the worse. Pick a cuisine and stick to it, not hodge podge. Oh well. I won’t be back anyway and certainly will not suggest anyone else visit. There are plenty of other places with better food and service.

  I had the crab cakes topped with crawfish cream sauce and it was absolutely delicious! It had relatively large chunks of crab meat and the sauce was amazing. The atmosphere is great if you want to hang with friends and eat.

  Shrimp tacos were awesome. Had collared greens as a side and they were not so great. No flavor. Waiter seemed to be rushing us as well. Probably because we weren’t drinking alcohol.

  Montego Cafe. I was very dissapointed in the service at Monteog’s. Four of us met there at about 5:30 yesterday. It was not crowed at that time. I came in and sat with my 2 friends who had been there for about 10 minutes and had their beverages. I sat down with them, there was a waiter talking to them at the time, making suggestions which I thought was great but then he said I won’t be your server and left never asking me if I wanted a drink. The fourth friend arrived about 5:45 and finally someone came over and said he would take our order. I asked for water, about 15 minutes after this another server came over and asked about drinks she brought the 2 of us water (30 minutes with no drink). We didn’t receive our meal until 6:30 a 45 minute wait with no one checking to see if we needed anything. When the food finally did arrive, I have to say I was pleased. Food was very good but service needs to be improved. I will try it again because the food was good but I certainly will make sure that I have no place to be afterwards because I most likely would be late.
