Yum! This place was really good. I enjoyed their fries. I have a dog one day and a panini the next day. Both were excellent. It I lived in Mobile then I would make this a regular place to eat.
Still Trapped In Mobile..Loving it!So every day I have to explore and find somewhere to eat while here, early on Petes was discovered (downtown), first time had the Roast Beef House Roasted Medium Rare, with gorgonzola spread, onion confi,t baby greens, Dijon on ciabatta, wow wow tasty especially with a Louisiana Abita Root Beer.Second time the Muffaletta Italian Meats & cheeses, olive spread and rustic Italian bread, again Abita. Yummy. This place is in Charming Old Mobile, awesome historic buildings next to a great central park with a wonderful afternoon downtown vibe, just cool cool cool! And Yummy!
I recently had the opportunity to have lunch with a dear friend downtown at Panini Pete’s. My friend had the Muffaletta with chips, and I had the regular burger with fries. Both were very good, we loved the chips, but the fries were terrible! The fries were soggy and limp so much to the point that eating them with your fingers (no forks were offered) were gross and very messy. Wish they had been crispier.Just a thought, but please offer a full set of utensils with your meals. It would be so much better than licking your fingers and then grabbing the ketchup again. TOO GROSS!
Panini Pete’s beignets have always been a favorite for our office. So if you’re in downtown Mobile, do try it! Today I ordered the House Roasted Medium Rare Beef Panini for takeout with house frites. It was a huge roast beef sandwich! The gorgonzola spread was rich, creamy and delicious with the roast beef – excellent sandwich and the fries were good too (not too salty). My co-worker loved the House Turkey panini she ordered. As a whole, the quality of Panini Pete’s food is consistently very good and his prices are reasonable for the downtown Mobile area. Our sandwiches were $8.80 each with taxes included.
Beignets!!. This place is a fav of mine. Each and every sandwich I have tried has been delicious! The service is friendly. Recently I tried the beignets. I am in love! They are crispy on the outside and warm and soft on the inside. The prices here are reasonable. I live a little ways from here but it is always worth a trip.
Nice Atmosphere Good Sandwiches. A busy lunch crowd, the servers were hopping for table to table. A focused menu of burgers, dog, and sandwiches, I went with the philly special panini, nicely chard beef mixed with onion and red pepper, topped with provolone cheese. Comes with chose of homemade chips, fries and Pete’s Treat. The chips are crispy, and slight salty. A variety of sales is also on the menu. Along with coke products, iced tea and water. The service is friendly and attentive on beverage refills. My colleagues had the burger special which was topped with jalapeos, slightly sweet and salty was the comment, which both enjoyed. Given the location in downtown, a parking plan is needed, be aware of that, that would be my only negative.
You have to try it…… I stayed in Mobile for a week and was a little disappointed with the local food. That is until I tried Panini Pete’s. Wow. Great food and terrific service. You must try the turkey panini. They roast the turkey in house and it’s fantastic. Dani, a server, is quite the saleswoman. She knows the menu front to back and will hook you up with great suggestions. If you’re in this neck of the woods, stop in and try it out for yourself.John G. Tampa
