Try the macaroni- yum!!
Salty but good. Drove by at lunchtime and it was packed. Came back at 645 pm for dinner- nd they were closing! Huh… Closing at 7? So we ordered a sampler of everything to go.Food was luke warm but good. Did not care for the stringy pulled pork but loved the ribs and chicken. Great smokey flavor and good sauce. Wish we ate there at lunch instead, when everything was fresh!
Best ribs in town!. If you want a real southern treat, try the ribs (sauce on top, please). These are, by far, the most tender ribs in town. They pull right off the bone, and are full of smoky flavor. The sauce has just enough bite to make you lick your lips (fingers too, if nobody’s watching!) This family run operation is no chain, by any means. I was here on July 4th, in between severe thunderstorms, and everyone else had the same idea! There was a huge crowd. The parking lot was packed, and a double line inside, placing orders. Everything was calm though, and I noticed orders pouring out of the kitchen. No one complained. I waited maybe 15 minutes, total. Once I got home, I was impressed by the shear quantity of ribs. Some places trim off the knuckle bones for other sandwiches. The baked beans are always good too. I don’t eat here enough. Shame on me!
I had the pulled pork sandwhich, I was not at all impressed. The pork had absolutely no flavor whatsoever. The sauce was okay, but the pork was terrible.
Disappointing Sandwiches. My husband and I tried once before when the line for lunch was out the door. We stopped by after a Dr appt in Mobile put us behind the usual lunch crowd. And had been looking forward to the kind of BBQ we are used to having in B’ham and miss here.My boneless white chicken sandwich tasted like someone had quickly boiled a breast, cut it up and stuck it in the sauce. My husband’s beef sandwich had more than the usual gristle. And, as others have pointed out, where’s the Smoke?Crossing this one off our list and continue our search for good Q in Lower Alabama.
Liked it. I thought this was a good place. The staff was very friendly, the pulled pork was good, the red beans & rice were good, and I loved the mac & cheese. Excellent prices. Very solid restaurant. Inexpensive – I think I I was under $8 and was totally full. Will go back.
Good for the Price. The prices here are good and the vegetables to me are better than the barbecue. I have had sandwiches, chicken and ribs and all were fair barbecue. I happen to like their sauce as well. Not my favorite in town but wouldn’t hesitate to eat there again.
