Our food was wonderful as usual. But, even with reservations we were seated at one of those high bistro tables. These tables are fine for a quick bite at a snack bar. For a dinner that’s going to take over an hour they are ridiculous. I hope they will replace them.
My striped bass was very tasty. The food here is fresh and delicious. That said, the menu is almost too limited. I usually like a salad before my meal. The only option I had was a big pile of kale with a few grape tomatoes. The portions are small which is fine with me, but I could easily see a grown red blooded man leaving hungry. The building is lovely. It’s very old and the brick is beautiful. Why the designer or decorator chose those metal chairs and the light cheap looking wood tables I don’t know…. The service was very good and the cocktail menu very nice:)

Soft Shell Crab is Back in Season. Our experience at Noble South was exceptional. This has been the norm for our visits there. The soft shell crab was the best I’ve ever had. It was obviously fresh and the cornmeal batter was light and not at all oily. The green remoulade sauce was fantastic and the pairing of the crab with the celery salad was genius. The service was excellent as always. We will be back before the soft shell crab is out of season.
Great!! Went with coworkers for a staff lunch and was in and out within and hour and a half. Busy and fun with rustic atmosphere. Prices are very reasonable for lunch. Gourmet country cookin and it did NOT disappoint!! The service was prompt and very professional. Great new place. Finally down town mobile has something fresh!
Try to go in-between the lunch and dinner crowd. The staff was attentive and the place was clean and relaxing. I love seeing a good restaurant do well downtown. I went today and had a delicious meal and wine. The brussel sprouts were amazing. Sadly they were out of the turnips; I was looking forward to trying them. The mac-n-cheese was very good. My only complaint is the salt. I could not finish the Crawfish Etouffee because of the salt. But that could just be me. Prices are fair; the wine is expensive but I guess good wine always is. Try to go in-between the lunch and dinner crowd; its a small place.
A wonderful surprise!. We were hoping for some higher quality food when visiting downtown Mobile for the first time after finding nothing but fried glop at the coast. What a pleasant surprise to find The Noble South. The food and service both were excellent. I especially loved the kale salad.
