I wouldn’t recommend the fish tacos, however the seafood platter was good and you can sit outside right on the water. Pricing can be a little hit or miss and typically sides with what you see on the bay way.
Like it!. Kind of surprised by the negative reviews. We live close by and have always had good, friendly service and tasty food. It’s one of our favs !
What a waste! Their food is super overpriced and nothing special! Plus who serves steaks and no baked potato? We’ve tried them over and over hoping one day they will get it together, but they haven’t. What a waste of such a legendary landmark.!
Lousy Service, Overpriced. We went there with our children leaving Dauphin Island because we wanted to sit outside by the water. They have really gone up on their prices. $17 for a po-boy? Our waitress acted like she couldn’t be bothered and we asked for napkins twice and never got any. We had one napkin for a table of 4, two being children. It wasn’t really that busy. For the cost and the service, I would definitely say save your money and go somewhere else. For those prices, I want something that doesn’t taste like everything was fried in the same grease.
No Value here. Went to the River Shack for Friday Fish lunch. I was very disappointed with what the waitress served to me… (see picture).The meal was Fried Catfish plate. It came with fries, and hushpuppies. The Catfish was 3 little pieces of about 1/2 a filet, two burned hushpuppies.The price was $8.50…not a bargain by no stretch of the imagination! The Shrimp Basket is by far a much better bargain with full cut filets, slaw, fries and hushpuppies…same price….Never will eat there again!(edit…I did eat about 6 of the fires when this picture was taken….just to be fair)
This place is far beyond the worst I have EVER been to , mostly packed Witt the reg drunks . I hope the Heath department visits this place soon
So-so. The server was attentive but did not get our drinks right and forgot to bring some of the sides. The portions are small and the plate is unimpressive for the price. The music and atmosphere is casual and relaxing.
