The filet was to die for. The grouper was good. A little pricey but friendly atmosphere. We will return some day soon. Still trying to meet the 140 characters
Love Vons! This is a great addition to downtown Mobile. Great food & good service. The nachos are delicious! Would recommend & return. Also the bread pudding is a must try.
Wonderful Southern/Asian Fusion perfectly prepared by the delightful Von, who is somewhat of a fusion herself. Everything I’ve tried here is just fantastic. Service is great too.
Such a great addition to downtown! We visited Von’s for lunch after having a friend rave about their food truck chicken salad (plus, who can turn down a chance to try Vietnamese / Southern Alabama fusion). The food was amazing, plentiful, and very well priced. The service was prompt and attentive. I tried their banh mi special which, I have to say, is the best banh mi I’ve had in years. The pork belly was juicy and flavorful, the sauce was spicy and creamy, and the veggies we so fresh. The entire dish was flavorful and filling but maintained the characteristic light and fresh feeling of a classic banh mi. My side of mixed veggies was a little bland and mushy, but I didn’t mind since my entree and appetizer were so good and filling. I tried their St. Michael mixed drink which was cool fresh and spicy (Cucumbers, St. Germaine, Thai basil and chili pepper syrup, ginger, lime, etc). My lunch mates ordered the chicken salad sandwich and fried green tomato blt. Both were just as good as my banh mi. There were a ton of menu items I wanted to try so I’ll definitely be coming back my next visit to Mobile.
I had the beef and pork belly sliders with basil crema.It was the best sandwich I’ve ever had, and I’ve had a lot of sandwiches. My husband and I live downtown so we are experts on all things food in this area of Mobile, and I have to say that this is one of the best. There are daily specials, so people who eat downtown a lot won’t get burnt out on the same food (I’m looking at you Noble South). It competes with Noja and at a much more reasonable price. We will definitely be coming back.
Fairly new to the down town area. Excellent food! Excellent service! Coastal southern and Asian fusion. Never had a bad dish there. A fan of their food truck also.
