Louisa is My Leading Lady.. I am a student at Huntingdon College and a lover of Old Cloverdale, so I am often in Cafe Louisa doing homework or reading for class. They have such a great selection of coffee, espresso, and tea. I love the small and cozy feel of it and the mismatched cups and mugs. They also have really great sandwiches, though they are huge! I usually end up taking half home with me. I am also a big fan of their teas and the iced vanilla latte. I will say this, unless all you’re getting is a small coffee or tea, don’t come in here expecting fast food service. The food can take a little bit to be served, but it is well worth the wait!
Oh, Montgomery. Surely you can do better than this.. 89% like???? I don’t even want to think about the ones you don’t like. This cafe is fine for hanging out to drink coffee but not for real food. It took 25 minutes to get two sandwiches. After 15 minutes,I asked about the long wait and was told a lot of orders were in front of us. As near as I could tell, there were more people working in the kitchen than there were customers and I never saw more than 3 other people with food. Then we got the food…. Mine was fine. Nothing special but fine. My husband’s grilled portobello sandwich was the smallest sandwich I’ve ever seen served to an adult in my life. ($6.50, no side). He ordered an muffin and was still hungry two hours later. Sorry, we won’t be back.
Bravo!
Great!. Born and raised in Montgomery, I know how wonderful and historic Old Cloverdale is. Cafe Louisa is definitely a huge favorite! The atmosphere is very chill, it’s a great place to study, read, or chill with a friend. Every time I go I get two scoops of pistachio gelato, it’s to die for! The service can be a little slow, but to be such a privately owned business it’s not half bad. If you’re visiting Montgomery, Cafe Louisa is a must.
Solid, light lunch.. Fresh, simple ingredients with just enough twist to keep things interesting.
I love Cafe Lousia, I was a student at Huntingdon and stopped by almost every morning before class for a chai latte & blackberry granola bar. The atomsphere is casual, quirky & unique. While I am not a huge fan of their espresso or coffee drinks everything else I’ve had is amazing. It’s not a quick stop in kind of place, they aren’t a drive in. It’s definitely a place you want to take a friend or laptop and just hang out, enjoy your order and relax. I have lived in Montgomery my whole life and if I had to take someone to the most unique place here it’d be Cafe Lousia. I suggest it to anyone who has time to enjoy a cafe experience.
Good food, very slow.. The good is great, but the service is insufferably slow. Calling in your order is a MUST and it might actually be ready when you arrive.
