Ugh. First time visiting today. The Friday special is the endless spaghetti served with a salad and desert (sic). For being open for only 3 hours during the day, the staff is completely unorganized and inattentive to order of orders. 28 minutes elapsed before being served a salad. The spaghetti that should have been ready to go was another 8 minutes after that. The food was nothing special. Canned sauce that may have had some extra ground chuck added. The highlights were the (obviously) pre-packaged garlic bread and the guy refilling drinks. I wish I could have specified that he got the tip.
A hole-in-the-wall restaurant with great chili, cozy diner atmosphere, friendly staff, and again, great chili. Their burgers are also much better than any large chain restaurant. It’s a small space that fills up really quickly around peak lunch hours, and with a small staff, you may have to be a bit patient. But the food is worth the wait, and you can always call ahead to place an order to-go.
Also, when you’re eating the chili, make sure to try the grilled cheese with pickles, mayo, and jalapeos! It’s great!29 Jan, 2014Best chili and friendliest staff in the world!! Highly recommended!!
Best Hamburger Steak in Town. I love the family atmoshere in this small lunch place by Lagoon Park. Many customers are old friends and the ladies working there are all related and just warm and good people and their kids and firends come by often to chat. All the food is homecooked and not prepared beforehand. The chili is definitly the chef’s own recipe and I love it. The burgers are hand patted and delicious anf the Patty Melt is a favorite done right with grilled rye bread. The hamburger steak though is the best to me. A generous portion and loaded with gravy, I get mine all the way with grilled onoins, peppers and mushgrooms and good ol’crinkle cut fries – Yumm! Nobody does it better than Momma.
El paso Chili Co.. I love This Place..Great Service..Awesome food!! I’d go back everytime If I Could!!! U Need to Go!!-James
Hot chili, busy lunch crowd. This narrow restaurant has around 10 tables total, plus a few seats at the counter, and they fill up fast with quite a line on weekday lunch hours. Service is slow with only two employees for the lunch crowd, especially with one limited to cash register duty. Their signature chili contains chunks of steak, a nice surprise, but was too hot for our northern palates to digest. The spaghetti special’s main flavor was oil, but the lemon bundt cake was great. 10% military discount with ID.
