Great food!. We had oxtails, jerk chicken, cabbage, rice, and plantains. Everything was wonderful! The woman behind the counter was incredibly nice, and the restaurant was very clean. Definitely don’t judge this place by its location or external appearance!
Delicious Curried chicken roti!!!. I have been on a search for a curried chicken roti to stand up to the ones I would eat in Toronto for 20 years. This is as close as one has come… Good texture, flavor, and I could drink a Sorrel with it also. Fabulous! Cannot wait to go back.
Very Impressed. My co-workers and I have found a new favorite lunch spot! You CANNOT beat the oxtails! And the beans n rice?!?! Forget about it. Sooo good. Of course, you can’t have a plate without the festival – their version of a sorta cornbread. Very tasty. My friends and I consider ourselves to be pretty legitimate foodies (as much as one can possibly be in Montgomery, AL), and we were all impressed by the quality and authenticity of the food they serve. Definitely recommend.
Great Food!!!. Don’t let the outside and neighboring businesses fool you. Step into a very clean, bright restaurant. The jerk chicken is wonderful. I also recommend the plantains – living in Key West for many years spoiled me for food like this. I was impressed.
Overall a Great Dining Experience. I had read reviews on this place, so I decided to try it out with a friend. I was not disappointed! The interior was clean and inviting, with pictures of Jamaica adorning the walls to give that extra homey atmosphere. My friend and I tried the oxtails w/ rice. The small portion of fried plantains was particularly good, they reminded me of sweet potatoes. My other side was the cabbage. The oxtails were amazing, had never tried them before but I will surely eat them again in the future. The meat was tender, juicy, and very flavorful. There are a number of drinks to choose from that are imported straight from Jamaica. The 16 oz. champagne cola we tried had a nice bubbly quality to it.I would recommend this restaurant to my friends and family. I have heard the jerk chicken is especially good, so I will try that when I return.
Consistently A+++. The oxtail, curried goat, jerk chicken, rice & peas, and spicy beef patties are alway amazing here. Very simple restaurant that’s very clean and offers extremely good food at a more than reasonable price. The sides are delicious too, especially the Jamaican potato salad and the steamed veggies. I could go on and on because this place is so good!
This food is delicious. Its a hole in the wall type of joint, so you know the food is good.
