Disappointed. Finally went to the new location of La Jolla on Friday Night. The meal started off Fantastic (Lamb Chops) but quickly went downhill. We were lucky enough to be sat next to a table of VERY drunk patrons. For me to say someone is loud – you have no idea. One was passed out drunk at the table for a half-hour. Not that I think there was anything management could have/should have done, just a bad start to the meal. The thing I can NOT get past was that every single Entree we ordered was overcooked ( Veal Picatta, Filet and Pork chop). The pork chop was so overcooked it was like rubber. The server replaced the Pork with a Filet at no charge (Service was excellent). We didn’t even bother bringing up the other overcooked items…09 Jan, 2013Nice NYE Dinner. Went for the NYE Prix Fixe. Really enjoyed it, but the dishes weren’t very imaginitive. Duck Prosciutto Salad was a highlight.
Service was slow, but the servers were great. The Softshell crab appetizer was amazing, except the corn slaw on top was a little heavy. The Steak was perfectly cooked and the black garlic butter was an amazing combination.
PsalmBird. I have been to this place on 3 occasions, and each time the service has been mediocre at best and the food was just OK. The atmosphere of this place is nice, but if I am going to pay high end prices, I prefer more than just a nice atmosphere, the food and services should be top notch…and this place is just OK.
Hit or Miss. I’ve been to La Jolla when the food was amazing – loved everything and it was worth every penny! But my last experience was not good at all – I didn’t enjoy a thing on my plate and was afraid to order dessert after that. Not sure why the huge difference. Unfortunately, I haven’t been in a hurry to go back after my last experience. Hoping when I do get the nerve to go back that it will be amazing again.
After moving away from the Montgomery area, I was so excited to be able to return to La Jolla this Valentine’s Day. Sadly, in the two years since my last visit, both the quality of service and the food have gone downhill. Our service was VERY slow, the steak was not properly cooked, and the food was all under seasoned. I will not return.
Great atmosphere, very professional service. My meat cut like a knife thru butter and tasted amazing. Expensive, but worth it.
Well my meal would have been good if it had actually been warm. Not worth the drive out here to eat cold food. I’ll keep to my Cloverdale places, at least they know how to keep food warm.
